ok - i have these to choose from:

virgin wap gprs
virgin wap csd
virgin gprs
blueyonder

do you know which i should choose?

also, when i check the settings of each of these, it says the "internet mode" is WAP. i can choose either wap or http - would http make a difference?

Go to internet profile...settings and there will be an option with options wap and http...if you select http you'll prob need to put in proxy settings...just write you ip add and set port to 8080. Btw even after doin all this i couldnt access my pop3 mail so i guess there is more to it than that. I say you purchase email viewer from reqwireless...its a very nice java email client and should work. Try the demo first at www.reqwireless.com/wap tho.

I would have thought that 'Virgin GPRS' would have been the best choice to use. Leave the internet mode as 'WAP'.

thx for that. i just downloaded the demo and i was able to send an email first time! i sent a message from my blueyonder account to my yahoo account - however, when i clicked "reply", the reply went to my blueyonder, but 20 mins later i still cant access it via my phone. have you had a lot of success using this?

Well i've just used the demo version...i use mostly my yahoo account so dont require pop3 access to read mail. Anyways out of the many email clients i've tried it was the only one which received the attached pics as well. And it retrieved mails from my mymail.ro and bluebottle.com accounts without any problem.
