I would LOVE www.di.fm to work....

If ANYONE gets it going, even to such a crappy quality that no-one in their right mind would listen, I want to know about it!

Why don't you set up a dedicated server at home, and get your favourite wma/wmv stream going. Then use your sound card to capture this stream and rebroadcast it in a format compatible with your P900? The bandwidth usage would be minimal as you'd have to lower the quality quite a lot.

This also applies to the guy that wants to listen to Digitally Imported (DI) on the move. Just set up your own server at home and rebroadcast it.

www.shoutcast.com - Broadcast Tools available here.

I never thought of this until now. I might try it! Can anybody confirm if streaming audio is possible on O2 Free GPRS on PAYG?

Hope this helps

If I were going to make my own server, I would do it for my PDA which I already know can stream audio .asx and .wax files. One of the reasons I have looked at the P910a was because I thought its browser (or the downloadable Opera) worked just like the regular browsers on laptops/desktops. Since I have not seen the P910a stream anything, I have no hope that I could get it to work. Besides, why should I do all this work? Isn't this what you would expect the phone to do out of the box or at least after downloading Opera? Aren't all of you just as surprised as I was that streaming doesn't work on the P910a?

I'm not sure if streaming does work on the P900, i don't think i've ever tried it, but i have streamed a 128k radio station on my XDA2 over USB (and it's possible over WiFi), which worked perfectly fine.

The P9xx0 may be able to stream but i think 3rd party software would be required, as the built in Music Player doesn't seem to support it.

If you would like to have a device which streams then i suggest you take a look at my XDA2 sale. SD WiFi Cards can be had for £50.

Good luck.

I just tried over 15 websites that stream audio (especially www.somafm.org which has a selection of many formats) and NONE OF THEM work on the P900! Really, a shame for such a nice phone.

Video definately also DOES NOT WORK! I tried multiple formats from different sites.

Worst of all, Orb.com which is the main reason I want to be able to stream becomes useless, since the damn phone can't stream (btw, Orb.com is the most awsome app I've used for streaming content off of your PC to a mobile device)... I really like the P series, but am getting really sad that lesser win mobile devices or older Nokia's can do what this phone can't
