@se rules - Here's my opinion/suggestion:

1. Buy the K700i and upgrade the firmware with the latest - ASAP!

or

2. Get the Nokia 6230!

Good Luck!

My two penceworth, having chosen K700i over D500:

1. D500 has more memory, but still nowhere near enough to work as an mp3 player, and K700i has more than enough for photos, games, etc.
2. K700i has FM radio (and good quality one, too)
3. D500 has better camera, but K700i's is good enough for photo messaging, which is the whole point (at least initially) of having a camera on your phone. If you want a decent camera, buy a camera.
4. Voice recorder on D500 will not record conversations, but K700i's will v. useful if you're on the move and don't have a pen and paper handy to take down the details of a call.

I've changed from a K700 to the S700 - and I'd recommend that anybody else thinking of buying the K700 do the same. For a little extra cash you get many, many more features. The screen, MP3 player (which handles AAC-LC - more compressed/smaller files), and Memory Stick Duo port alone are worth it, let alone the camera. If you want a decent camera, buy this phone!

Games are actually playable now, especially when they run landscape on the handset. I've even started to develop one (and have others in mind) for the phone's unique screen.

And don't forget, 3D java. I don't know if the other phones you've been looking at handle it, so can't comment on them, but everyone who's seen the 3D tennis on my phones have stood gawping.

You can now get Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow for the K700 in 3D, and I've been led to believe they're working on an S700 version (TBC).

If its out of those three handsets, get the K700. If you're more open, get the S700. You'll be happy for it.
