I actually like the Keyboard on the P910a. It takes some getting used to though. It's biggest drawback for me isn't it's size, but the fact that it's not backlit.

I'm with getagrip15 on this one!
Personally I find the qwerty keypad very usable indeed, much more user friendly than the hand writing recognition or virtual keypad. Sure, auto capitals would be a nice feature but the caps and num lock keys work fine once you've got the hang of them.
Maybe the keypad's software functions will be improved in later firmware releases?

i totally agree with getagrip: the keyboard is actually quite useful, but really hard to touch type on in moderate darkness.

I find the keyboard very useful.
Pros
----
It allows you to view the entire screen and get a full view of what you are typing as it does not obsure half the screen like the Virtual Keyboard does.
Cons
-----
It is missing one row of keys. So certain things I would like are missing e.g. Tab Key, and strangely/stupidly it is missing the Backslash character key/option.
No backlight. This would be nice to have. But it would have to come with an option to switch the backlight off otherwise the battery drain would be too much (Screen backlight, bluetooth, gprs, keyboard backlight, just too much going on - perhaps that's why SE didn't include it).
I think the keys are a slightly too spongy, especially the space bar, and they need to respond a little quicker (ie. result in a character being entered on screen quicker as a result of a keypress). This would result in a person being able to type much quicker.
Perhaps the keys could be a little larger or spaced out a little more.
In certain defaualt applications the QWERTY Keyboard doesn't work
People with large finger will have problems. But then the P910 is a compromise product - it will be perfect for many, adequate for most and not suitable for a few.
But having said all that the QWERTY Keyboad is still an excellent keyboard given that it is a Version 1. If they improve the keyboard in the next Pxxx phone it should be awesome. I would score the QWERTY Keyboard 8/10.

I'm a bit surprised that so many of you use the virtual keyboard, i think it's awful? With handwriting recog. i write as fast as i do on paper. The P910 extra keyboard is totaly uninteresting for me, when i'm on meetings and do notes i want my P900 to lay on the table and write on it as i would do on paper... I also don't use the flip wich is off.
I know two guys who had used P800 for a couple of years and no one of them have tried to use the handwriting recog, instead they use the virtual keyboard and i think it's taking ages for them to write something. They can't use it the way i do on meetings etc...
Why don't you use handwriting recog? It is quite easy to learn and fun to use when you have learned it.

@.Z.: Well, I use a combination of the vitual keyboard & jot pro. But for the purposes of this thread, a comparison of "keyboards" is in order; innit? :)

Ok, i was just curius because i have noticed that many don't know how to use Jot pro and i think they are missing something very important. I also think that P910 new keyboard is for them...
Let's go back to the comparison.

@ Z
Many people, like myself, don't use the JotPro because we regard it as a waste of space.
Firstly, you are not writing at all; it is NOT like the proper handwriting recognition you get on a Tablet PC for instance.
Secondly, you have to write one character at a time.
And then there is all that nonsense with having to write lower case letters at the top half of the screen, capitals in the centre and numerals in the lower half of the screen. Or some such nonsense like that.
I for one never used the flip on my old P800; I found it ugly and clumsy and it was well known that it could crack the scene in certain circumstances.
But hey, this discussion illustrates magnificently why the P910i is the greatest smartphone on the market and is likely to be until its successor comes along. Why? Because the product is so adaptable that almost anyone will find a method of usage that suits them.
Me? I am a Virtual Keypad user using eZiTap FEP software as well as using the QWERTY keyboard.

Ok, if someone can write as fast at the virtual keyboard as i do with handwrite recog. then i will be surprised, on the other hand i'm with you when you say that SE handwrite recog. could be better.
