yeah I don't agree that SE are making defective phones on purpose. you might recall that I had one of the very first K700 for example but the only problem I experienced was the 2 key sticking. I think it really depends on many factors as to how satisfactory your experience is with any device. in the case of phones that can be the batch itself as no manufacturing process can produce totally identical products every time. also the carrier you are with, reception areas etc etc.

I'm not put off buying SE, I'm just having a little rest after 3 years of SE

In my experience, most of the people who shift over to Nokia expect to find a product with no bugs and unsurpassed product quality. This is sadly, not the case as many Nokia "fan" sites have a fair volume of people cribbing about their phones.

People in India tend to be extremely biased towards Nokia phones, as Nokia has the best presence within the market. I've noticed a huge hue and cry being raised if a SE phone is sent for repairs - however nobody bats an eyelid if a Nokia is sent for repairs (are we Indian cellphone users biased or what? )

Everyone needs to do their "homework" before shifting brands or even models within the same company!

SE definitely needs to improve and serve their customers better, but so does any other company!

Cheers!

Yes i still have warranty and i tried reflashing but to no avail and i dont think the dealer would be particularly happy to change my piece seeing that its quickshare and online stickers have already fallen off and the plastic thingy covering the port at the bottom has become quite loose already

And you guys may have the advantage of having good SE service centers but in my city, there's only one, about 50-60 km away and the service guys are total idiots who when i went the first time and asked to upgrade my firmware said "Firmware ?"

SE really needs to focus on giving proper service wherever they sell their phones

Peeps always think the grass is greener on the other side, but when they move over to the other side the grass looks just as green as the other one before.
So when your wife/gf is trouble for a week, are you gonna trade her in for a different model, too?
Many of us had/will have bad experiences with SE (including myself). But that is the case with any other phone brands and their users, too.
As more complex mobiles get chance for defects increases.

All brands churn out defective sets all the time. But thatz not enough reason to jump ship.Personally, my next set is unlikely to be SE, not bcos SE has failed me, but simply bcos my needs have outgrown what they offer at present. This message was posted from a P800

Its good to have a change sometimes, I had a T28 about 4years ago, went to a Nokia 8850 (excellent phone) then a 6610 (crap!), V600 (OK) and now a P910i (excellent) at the time of changing my T28 SE wasn't providing anything new I wanted. Oddly enough I've just picked up a few T28s as spare phones when I need something small and slim, they are still an excellent phone, wish SE would bring out an updated version!!
