I heard the thumbpad will not auto capitalise. Is this true? This message was posted from a K500

"Afterthought" is right. The keypad is certainly an excuse. About not being able to auto-capitalize, well neither my PC nor P800's virtual keyboard does either. This message was posted from a P800

@govigov: Thatz the prog doing the auto-caps, not the keyboard. If its the keyboard, it would do it on every text input. I think there is a Word-format app for the P-series. Dunno if it does that though. This message was posted from a P800

i like the way ppl always slag off the little keyboard and then it turns out they dont even have a 910 and probably never tried it
anyway, i DO use the keyboard sometimes, mainly if the phone is on my desk in the syncstand, its pretty sturdy to use then, and my hands are about as big and clumsy as they come.
I have used the phone with and without the flip and each has benefits
I keep the flip on when i`m working- it protects the screen a little when the phones in my pocket, its much easier to make and take calls with the flip on (no fiddling about with a tiny stylus).
If im off work (like over xmas) i took it off- phone is a bit smaller and looks better, feels more natural in the hand and against your head, and is less bulky when your using full screen. although if you take the flip off you will probably want to keep it in that pouch thing you get with the phone, which makes it even bulkier than with the flip, and if you put that pouch on your belt lets be honest your gonna look pretty stupid.

Basically i would say, if your on the move a lot (walking about, having to use the phone on the go etc.) then its better on. If you spend most of the day sitting at a desk, on a sofa or in a car or whatever, then you`ll probably prefer it off.
But the best thing is, you have the choice, without the flip i probably wouldnt have got this phone (too much fiddling and the screen would get scratched), but i`m glad i have the option to remove it when i want as well.

@aled: Which still validates the first thing I tell anyone who asks the kind of question this thread is asking. Only each individual can tell for themselves whether it is flip-on, off or a combination. Then and only then do I give my own opinion. We find what works for us and stick with it :) This message was posted from a P800

I like to have it off.

(Arf arf)

But then, mine's a P900, so I don't miss out on the little keyboard, and also, there's the flip-causes-the-edges-of-the-screen-to-crack problem to consider - this has been resolved on the P910, with the wider flip.

Talking of flips...

I've had my 910 for a week now, had a 900 earlier. I have the keyboard on, since it's so much like a regular mobile phone then! And when I need to use the PDA, I simply flip it open! By the way, Quickoffice is an application which can open MS Office files, but it doesn't auto capitalize.

I have had my P910 for a month or so now, and I alternate between having the flip on and off. If I am on the move, it's better to keep it on then I can message and make calls comfortably using the outside flip keypad. When I am in the office for extended periods of time, it's sometimes fun to have the flip off, and it almost feels like a different phone...SWEET!
