What is a dead pixel? I'm using an ngage now and i don't see anything wrong with its pixels- can someone explain?

A dead pixel is a pixel that always remains the same regardless of wat is being displayed on the screen. Some are always black and are proper dead pixels while some become visible only against a particular background(generally dark blue) and are sometimes termed as dim pixels. Both are quite annoyin...the dim one less annoyin tho coz most people just dismiss as a speck of dust on the screen. This btw has got to do with the tft manufacturin process(1 or 2 out of millions of transistors not workin is quite probable) and inspite of stringent quality control methods these defects creep through.

Beware not to think all static dot as dead pixel, you must really sure that the dot appeared on your phone is really a dead pixel or just a particle of dust.

Unfortunatelly it is a dead pixel. Actually it is a subpixel. "Blue" sub pixel is dead. Therefore it can be seen easylly in Blue backgounds.
I could pat 10% more to a company that can garantue 0 dead pixel. It is so for LCD monitors and TV.....
