I had the same problem. I turned voice comtrol off, restarted the phone and it seems to work again. But when I started playing with the voice control settings, phone refused to play amr or mp3 files.

That'd demonstrate for sure that do exist some issues between MP3 sub-system and Voice recognition sub-system...

@macco--that is correct. And in the latest version of the firmware, it warns you of that onscreen when you activate voice answering--i suspect it has something to do with the possibility of the voice answering being triggered by a recorded word in the mp3 or AMR you use as a ringtone. But I found when I upgraded to R2AE033 that when I started fiddling with the voice control options, my phone refused to play mp3s or AMRs _at all_. Which is a different matter.
