I am pretty sure the price you mentioned was with contract. I was in Japan a month ago and I think they quoted about the same price as what you said. When I asked for the price without contract, they weren't even able to quote me. They also do not know how to unlock... and better yet, they are not willing to sell to anybody not living in Japan. You need a japanese credit card and a japan address prove to get the phone.... But then I guess there are always some ways around the system....

I'm sure you can unbrand the V800...But at this time as it is a brand new phone into this market, seeing not many countries have released it yet..I don't think you'd get a good gauranteed unbranding thing..

i'm trying to get a japanese friend to get the phones.. sooo having JP cc and address won't be a problem

Hey all... I notice a lot of interest in buying the V802SE from Japan.
I actually live in Japan and have an 802SE on contract... only 6 month contract and cost me about US$100... VERY CHEAP!
I'll go into the store today and ask how much they are to buy outright. I'll also ask a distributor friend of mine if it's possible to get the phones in bulk... but I'll need to know how many people want one.
PM me if you're interested and I'll get some prices (plus a small margin for my effort).
I can also get any other phone from Japan if you're interested.
Also... I might consider unlocking the phones too if it's worth the effort.
