i think the people who havent used the P-Series generally think that the S700i is massive...but then they would say that woudnt they...ive just recently sold my little baby(P900) and after all that time of ownership it came to feel small in my hands

I'm not saying the P910 is a better phone. That's down to your opinion but can the features of the S700 justify the price when it's priced in the same league as a smartphone?

Too focused *no pun intended* on camera.
Swivel form factor great novelty value but cumbersome in daily use IMO.
Very nice phone though, if you´re into cameraphones.

The P910 and the S700 are completely different handsets, aimed at completely different markets. The main attraction of the S700 is the camera, which really is second to none. If one feels thta one needs a smartphone then of course the P910 is the better option, but if on is just looking for a mobile and doesnot want the added weight and size of the P910, then the S700 really is the way forward.

Cumbersome? Where is this rediculous notion coming from? The S700 may be larger than a K700, but it is hardly cumbersome. I can't say that I have had to wear a back support to use my S700, nor have I found that people can't see me when I hold the S700 to my ear. It is a perfectly normal sized mobile phone and unless one is a flea with stunted growth who has a penchant for very tight trousers, it will quite happily fit in one's trouser pocket.

I owned a P900 before so having the s700i was a welcome catch indeed. I don't think it cumbersome. Fits just right inside your palm. Mostly you can make calls and check appointments without swivelling the phone open.
My only complaint is, there ain't any carrying case that fits it because of its thickness. But then again, it's not cumbersome

Everyone who has seen this phone thinks it is so cool.
The best feature is the generously sized screen. It really brightens everything up, whether it is themes, pictures, games etc, and not other mobile has a screen like it. It is over twice the size of some other mobiles.
You easily get used to the form-factor, the phone is well balanced and looks classy - there iis very little plastic used in the construction, indeed the only plastic I can see is the connector cover and the memory stick (another good reason) cover.
These phones are still unique, get one now before the herd catches up!!!!

After having a S700i for about a month now I've waited until posting any info/comment about it.
What's good:
I chose the S700i because it's bigger and more grippy than every phone I have had and that is a definate plus. Being able to stick a memory stick duo is good. It plays MP4 and it's mobile specific .3gp standard very well, some movies I've made on a Sony DV cam when converted via QuickTime look absolutely brilliant. Great battery life and works very well with Salling Clicke also!
What's bad:
The S700i isn't weighted properly when open and the depressed button make it awkward to type an SMS accurately and quickly and a sore wrist from trying to hold it in one hand while open. The swivel mechanism while cool...quickly gets to be a pain in the ass in general use. Most times you can get away with controlling almost everything without opening it though. The quick jump to a phonebook entry is buggy and pressing a button to jump to a second or third entry in random alphabetical does not work at all unlike my T610, T65, T29 and T28. My firmware is R3F008 so hopefully taking it in for an upgrade will correct it and a few other things.
The S700i is great in the fact that its all contained in one unit but because I have an iPod already in all honesty I would have been much better buying the cheaper (and very capable) K700i instead and a proper still image digital camera with analog zoom...
