I thought the range of bt on the k7 was about 10m, so would a 100m dongle allow you to connect at 100m?

It's supposed to as they claim. It's has to be free of obstructions though for it to effectively work on that range as BT works via radio waves.

In theory, but as already mentioned, obstructions do play a big part in connectability. My friend has a 100m, I was a couple of metres outside his house and couldn't connect (must have thick walls !!) My 10m dongle is sat down stairs and I can access it from my bedroom or garden, but to be honest I'm usually sat at my pc sending stuff with my phone nearby so unless you need to create a wireless network connection etc using the dongle 10m would usually suffice for most needs

Some BT dongles also has an aerial antenna which significantly allow it to operate at wider range.

I have bluetooth dongle and use the WIDCOMM drivers and OBEX Transfer with my phone. I am only getting speeds of about 25KBps.
Is this normal? It seems incredibly slow for what bluetooth is supposed to deliver. Am I missing some settings somewhere?
Any help appreciated.
