absolutely right you need to restart your phone every so often to free up RAM just like your pc

Yes I have seen this several times on my P910.
I cant image it actually running out of working memory, there's always tons free.
No solution? Each time it occurs, I pull up the running Handyday 2004 and exit it. I go back to editing the SMS/jotter/whatever and the handwriting triangle has returned and handwriting works fine.

Maybe it's not to do with Handyday 2004 and more to do with freeing up memory, but it has always solved the problem for me.

Hi all,

if you read the link I provided above, this issue happens on all English P900/P910i with flip removed and left ON 24/7. Believe it or not, I've tested and confirms that even without any applications installed, in plain vanilla P900/P910i and everthing as default, and uses it only for phone, jotter, calendar, tasks and SMS , the CiCJot Pro will still hang every 3 days or so and a reboot is the only "solution". SE knows about this but they cannot find a solution for more than 1 year... I had since then turned to use Decuma OnSpot (lucky me cos I am beta testing for them) and till date, both my P900 and P910i can last more than 4 weeks w/o the need to reboot it.

i dont think P910 Has 64MB RAM rather its 32MB RAM... 64Mb is the main internal drive (A hard Drive not RAM)....
I also face the same problum as discussed in this thread... also with an added feature that even my switch off button stops working and all i can do is take off the battery ( hard- Hard Reset) and then put the battery back again. I dont think so it has most to do with RAM because i keep checking my RAM part and which i keep it min at 55% free.. i m sure what we are seeing here is a good example of bug interface.

Hi ranbirsood,

I agree with you. It is definitely not due to insufficient RAM cos that's what I "uses to convince" myself to upgrade to a P910i when this issue keeps happening to my P900... thinking that the P910i with 32MB of active RAM and with 22MB free at boot time, will definitely resolve this issue... but how WRONG WAS I

Cheers

Hi adnhk1
Why i think its not because of RAM shortage is
1. i keep track of my RAM using SMAN and keep it free mostly. I have encountered this probum even when only one application is open.
2. If i assume this issue has to do something with RAM then why does my hard key pad ( FLIP KEY PAD) also locks down. I beleave that the flip key pad ( in closed mode)that is usually present in all mobiles work on hard physical intrupt and are not dependant on software make a character appear on screen. The hard physical intrupt is dependent on OS and the BIOS just like in normal computers....
Thats my understanding of Hardware and software confusion
