@Bammers

I've found that since the f/w upgrade, the battery life does seem slightly better than before. Whether that is due to the f/w or the fact that I can now use Sman's 'flip close flush' without the app crashing I'm not sure!

It's not :SE: and it's not the phone. It's all that network branding that is done on the phones. Sometimes, it's also the fault of apps not working as it is suppose to be. Just read through the threads and you'll see that a resolution to the problem usually comes after an erring app is uninstalled, a Master Reset is done or an update is done. That's because in all three procedures, the cause of the so called 'bug' was eliminated. This message was posted from a P910

@cycovision:

Could you please update the official SMan thread so that other Orange branded P910i users can benefit from your findings as well.

The thread can be found here.

So it looks like some sort of bug connected to the fact that I've an Orange branded phone.

Just what is the Sman software and why should i have it ?

Battery life did get better after a trip to the SE website, but my sman still crashes when I try and change fonts etc. Bluejack works though, which is most amusing! However still trying to figure out all the toys sman adds, has it been updated to stop it crashing all the time on orange branded p910is? Or was it 910i in general?

The only way I've found to delete these (and now also the missed call alerts) is to delete them of the relative page then turn the phone on and off.

B@ll ache..... Knackered as well coz I cant update the firmware myself as PC Suite just wont have it on my PC.

@Bammers

Not sure, but from what I can gather it seems to be a branding issue so not just orange but maybe other operator branded phones as well. I haven't heard any reports of Sman crashing on non branded P910s yet, put it that way.

@kippax

Take it back to the shop! The fact that you can't delete text messages without p*****g about is a serious issue, the firmware should be updated for you under your warranty.
