If you have enough patience, try to install windows without sp2, but you will need zone alarm or similar firewall to protect your pc. I use it that way. Or try searching esato cause there have been similar topics, maybe somebody solved the problem. This message was posted from a T610

I have patience, I've been playing with this for three days now...

I will get it all working eventually! Another format coming up.

Thanks for all your help blayv, maybe I should write a tutorial if I get it sorted for future reference?

u don't need to reformat it again.... remove ya paired T610 from ya bluetooth place, remove all the bluetooth modem in control panel and pair again....

once u succeed paired the device with ya pc, please check which COM port was ya standard bluetooth modem link assigned to.

go to Control panel and check which COM port was ya modem assign to...

after that do a diagnotics of that modem. if the windows xp can detect the modem from there... create a normal dial-up in ya "my network place"

just forget about sp2 or not.... suggest u use windows in-built bluetooth driver.

And I've got it working! SP2 is installed, the WIDCOMM drivers, however, are not.

I did format the laptop (as I only just did it didn't really matter) to start a fresh, and everything went without a hitch.

I installed Windows 2000, upgraded to XP (laptop blue screens if I install XP fresh), installed SP2, plugged the Bluetooth dongle in, everything was detected and Windows installed it's own drivers ... paired the two devices, created a normal dial-up connection in Network Connections and everything works.

Even though I still don't know as to why it wouldn't work before (stupid WIDCOMM?!) I'm happy that it does now.

Thanks for your help guys,

Dave.
