I had the 'loose connection' problem then it gave up completely. O2 changed the charger for me

"optimised charging" means, the power from the mains is used
optimally for different functions of the phone as well as charging it. when you switch of the phone, all it does is charge, so it will only show "charging".

When the "Optimized Charging" message appears many times, it just indicates that the charging was interrupted and restarted. You also mentioned that this only happens when you use your phone to do other things while charging, like play games.
There are 2 possible causes for this that I can think of:
1. there is a physical defect in your charger if not the connector, then maybe a problem with the wire or some loose or broken contacts in the charger itself. When you move your phone while playing with it, the connection probably got cut momentarily somehow.
2. the charger is probably damaged or has a low power capacity such that while you're using certain power-hungry apps on the phone the charger is not capable anymore of powering the phone and charging the battery at the same time. So the charging is temporarily stopped in favor of the apps.
I think the quickest way to solve this is to get a new charger.

I had a similar problem with my Z600 but I left it and it got worse and worse until it almost never charged anymore unless i wiggled the charger round for a while and then was careful not to touch it again until it was charged! I've got a K700i since and had no problems.

I too had that, and thot it was a charger fault, then i discovered, the part where is goes into the mains is loose, and the cause of the problem.

From my experience, they are worser than SE.

I've a similar problem with 'Alien Battery' in my k700.
I've bought a new battery, tried several other chargers, even updated the latest firmware from SEUS but it still displays the same.
A detailed information about my problem is posted
here.
Any help on this greatly appreciated.
