I have to say that when I bought eZitap from Zi Corp., I was initially thrilled with its capabilities. However, much to my dismay, I found that it crashes when I forward messages (I remove the "Forwarded from...."while forwarding SMS). Similarly, it crashes when using with programs like Advanced English Dictionary. Zi Corp. need to get their act together!

The software seems great. Personalized character recognition is one of the most interesting features that has come up in a long time. The main reason i am hesitant, is that there seems no easy way to temporarily disable the it besides selecting normal CICs JotPro mode in the control panel. I want a simple button in the main interface, available in expanded and retracted mode, that swithces back to the normal input mode.

There are applications where the Decuma Alphabetic input is unwanted, and i need a quick and easy way to disable it. I love using Personal Jotter, the most efficient input method for me, and the Decuma input method makes using Personal Jotter impossible.

Merging these two programs would be bliss.

I was giving it a go last night. It's very impressive, I must say. Although I can't yet decide if I'd use it enough to warrant purchasing.

I generally use eZiTap if I'm in a comfortable position, and only use handwriting if I'm walking around (in which case even Decuma is a bit fiddly).

Anyway, the following would make me much more likely to buy:

1. [Agree with Gigs] Ability to move the input window manually by dragging (it seems to move itself and sometimes just stays in an awkward position). If there was a 'handle' in, say, the top right corner, this could be used to drag, distinguishing the action from writing.

2. Combining with the dictionary of eZiTap so that words can be suggested, and perhaps to automatically fix unrecognised characters in a known word (eg. birfhday > birthday)

3. Option to choose the size of the input window in two ways:
i) make the area bigger, but still with just 1 line (this would mean I can use Decuma while walking around because I have plenty of space to write really big)
ii) [agree with Gigs] add an extra row for input. (Although I don't think more than two rows would be necessary).

Could we get an idea if suggestions in this tread are likely to be considered/implemented? I'd be more likely to buy now if I knew the extras would be coming along before too long.

I gave this application a try and I thought I would be a little more impressed. I do like the ability to edit the text in the input area before it outputs. There are a few problems as I see it...

1. I thought it would be a bit faster to recognize my text.
2. I can rarely fit more than one word on the input line
3. I have to keep pressing that little tiny space key in order to create a space and output my word. This slows me down tremendously.
4. I find it only slightly more accurate than JotPro which is built in.

Overall it is great to try out for a few days, but I don't think it has enough improvement on the original system to merit a purchase.

Well, I have since bought it after trying it out for an hour or so. While it is really quite impressive, I would suggest the following improvements:

i) Two line input
ii) Automatic space after a word is completed rather than punching the space key each time
iii)Combination of Ezitap dictionary
iv)Faster recognition if this is at all possible.

Hope the developers take note of our thread !!
Cheers!!

Note for those commenting on having to press space:

Just wanted to check if you're aware that starting the next word to the left of the little arrow that appears under the line will automatically insert a space.....

(using a hyphen at the right-hand side stops this space from appearing, so that you can wrap long words)

Only problem with this is if you actually want to write a hyphenated word.

one more little annoyance, I installed the program on my memory stick and now my phone will not boot up unless the memory stick is in. It just gives me an error message that says "Not Found". Everything works fine if I put the memory stick in.

This means that you should install the program on your C: drive.
