Well Orange (UK) are doing free GPRS until the end of April on PAYG so VC might be worth a look.
edit. Just looked at VC at my-symbian and it doesn't appear to be free. btw, Agile Messenger also has the push2talk feature and that IS free.

The reason why there is no Skype for Sony Ericsson is because they haven't ported it.
How about you ask at
www.skype.com instead of here?
Here you go
http://www.skype.com/community/forums.html ask there since skype questions are answered there.

- GPRS is laggy
- I get GPRS for free
- I get some VoIP calls free
= if I'm prepared to wait for the lag I can get free mobile phone calls. Even just leaving a message on an answerphone is handy, or push-to-talk.
Skype however, uses loads of bandwidth.

@Nut
Skype is a VoIP solution. Go to
www.skype.com and you can download a copy.
Why would anyone in their right mind want to use Skype of GPRS? It lags, the handoffs are no where as good as they should be. If you have a PC, and a BT headset, you can walk around (up to 10 meteres) with no problem. I do this often with my Mac, HBH-660 and Skype. Skype is also a bandwidth/resource hog. It would have to be really optimized to run on Symbian.
What about P2T?

It seems there is now a Skype Version for Symbian, unfortunately not for everyone:

I received an email from Skype this morning stating that Skype 3 (for mobile phones) is now available. Check out
http://www.skype.com/campaigns/skypeon3/ for details. I am waiting for the news that the SE P990i will be supported and not just the Nokia N73!!
Regards
Stephen
