Why on earth is SE selling the S700 in India when they have the EDGE enabled S710? That too in a country where EDGE isn't popular.

Maybe they earn more money in NA than they do in India or other countries where Edge starts to be deployied. For instance, although CDMA market in NA is big, SE did not make any money on it and hence droped all CDMA phones except in Japan.
SE has already stated, their main focus is UMTS. That's wehere they see they can earn alot of money. If you want a great selection of Edge enabled, phones you have to live with Nokias. SE will never launch Edge handsets for other markets than perhaps NA and even there the SE selection will be small.

No its not EDGE related judge!
Its a broad topic that focuses down on the things

are needing to improve on.

had no headstart with 3g. In fact, its probably the most idiotic decision they made in history! The Z1010 was fantastic, and still is, yet the persisted in not releasing it on three for over a year, pointless! It could have been a hit with the UK market, but no.

From all the reports and pictures i seen on the K750I. SONYERICSSON should have added 3G to the K750i.If they only did this,SE would have struck GOLD .SHOW me 1 3G phone that is slim and has a good looks like the K750i.We all know SE likes showing off there latest new phone in MARCH.We might have to wait until next year for SE to launch new products..

Don't see the big deal with EDGE. It was meant as a bridging technology for operators who could not afford 3G licences. In many countries spectrum has not been auctioned but offered at a fixed price which made 3G entry easier... thus nullifying the need to push EDGE when 3G offered a better options.

@Tahir Ally
According to Eldar at mobile-review an UMTS version with further enhancements (3-4 Mpx camera etc.) is on its way. Not this year, but next was his guess.

But we can't hope for the future, the new network feature coming out (cant remember the name, w something) is going to be greater than 3G!
SE needed to act, why spend ages pissing about with animations when they could have enabled certain features, developed the firmware more...

@ people
what i understand about 3g is that it uses GPRS and with 3g being so fast why not use edge as its a faster version of gprs...
wont 3g and edge be a better option than 3g and standard gprs????
