I'd say that a seperate problem to the bluetooth connection.
Do you have firewall software? If so it may be set to allow connection only over certain dial up connections. Also when connected try to ping a website

I agree it is a seperate problem.

Have Norton Firewall, but don't see how this is the problem as Norton is configured to allow IE to access the net.

Will turn it off to test, but can only do this on Monday.

Disabled the the firewall.
Still can't connect.

Anyone know how I can get IE on Win98 to use the bluetooth GPRS dialup connection?

I seem to remember having to type 'AT' in the Extra initialization commands under Phone and Modem options > Advanced in Win2k when I used bluetooth to connect. Maybe worth a go.

Have been using the AT string as supplied by my SP.
No idea what it means: at+cgdcont=5,”IP”,”internet”

Even tried leaving it out and still makes no difference.

You need to go to "add new hardware" in your control panel and install a Bluetooth modem for your cellphone (found on your cellphone software CD).

Then make a new dial-up connection and make the phone number "*99***2#". Link the modem for the connection to your Bluetooth modem. Restart the computer, and dial the connection. Should work...

The phone number to be dialed "*99***3#" depends on what CID profile your internet settings where saved on your phone. E.g. on my t68i, it was saved as CID=3. so it will be dialed as *99***3#. if CID=1, *99***1#.
