@PixQueL

SPH-V7800 is 5 Mpx phone (not 2 Mpx) and its not cheap (its not for the massmarket). Beside, the optic is to big for my taste and would not fit in a phone with K750 formfactor. If it used liquid optic (which e.g. Casio has) then it would be another story. But such optics are still experimental.

With the size of the optics in SPH-V7800 someting has to be sacrifice (size, weight, missing fetures e.g. no bluetooth, bad battery performance etc.). Such sacrifice may not add up for the addition of optics to attract consumers.

I personly would rather wait for smaller optics suitable for phones.

The SPH-V7800 look like a camera not a phone ,, it's big and ugly + the optics are bad .. you don't want to carry that phone for every day use .. like u don't want to carry around a 3kg laptop

like i have said before camera phones are taking the piss now. there ment to be a bit of fun, its no longer a phone with a built in camera, its more like Digital Camera with a built in phone.

I would really like to have a phone that captures video at VGA res and 30fps. I think that dir'n is where cam phones are headed and not bigger pixels. This message was posted from a K500

More pixels doesn't mean better quality! Every digicammer knows that. As for optical zoom it's too bulky for phones...

That 5mp samsung is so utterly ugly that I would never get it no matter how good pictures it take. Its bigger and uglyer than my real digicam and still doesnt take as good pictures as my digicam.

Imho, this is just technologymadness, the main purpose of phones are being phones, the most important things should be that of phoning. They should focus more on making good phones. Everything else is just added extra fun. Why would anyone need a VGA 30fps videocam in a phone, or a 5mp cam. No matter what, real digicams and videocams develop just as quickly as those in mobiles, and will always be better than mobiles. All this hype and nonsense is completely missing the main purpose of the device. Make good phones, with good phonefunctions and attractive design. If they can fit a good cam or good videocam in there, thats just fine, as long as it doesnt ruin the basic idea of the device. I would never get a phone just because it has 5mp cam, if the basic phonefunctions is crap and the design is ugly. And I honestly do not understand those people who seem to have the opinion that the only thing important in a phone is if it has a 2mp or a 3mp or a 5mp cam.

I agree with Govi, I think I'd rather see the VGA 30fps video option rather than a 5mp camera in a phone.

More megapixels doesn't necessarily mean better pictures, I have a 3 megapixel Olympus camera and a cheap digital camcorder that claims to take pictures at 3.1Mp, interpolated to 4.1Mp. However, the Olympus takes far better pictures, in fact the pictures that the mini digital camcorder takes are barely better than those my P900 with it's 0.3Mp camera takes. Sometimes the P9 even beats it!

It's all well and good having a 5mp camera module, but it's no good if it only takes pictures the same, if not worse than something with a 2mp cam, like the K750

Last year i bought the p910i which has a Vga cam(not even an excelent one!) cuz i hardly use it.I believe in the fact part of the pic,not in the quality part.Don't really care how good it is as long as is capturing the moment. This message was posted from a WAP device

Come on people, pull yourself together! Sure! A good 5mpx whateva camera would be nice, but its a phone at the end of the day, you know! For ringing people wirelessly! Thats the hole idea of a MOBILE phone! If youre that bothered, buy a digi cam! I think 0.3mpx is good enough, you see it clearly, not bad quality, so i dont see the point in having 5mpx
