we can use it to access company's intranet as long as there is "blackberry browser" service book and the company's BES allows mobile data service.
the BB connect that SE Singapore released do not comes with this service book. Neither do the T-Mobile version.

The downside I can see with Blackberry is that it uses it's own GPRS APN and whilst active you cant use the internet. So you would need to disconect to access the internet and then reconect again when you want your emails. Wouldn't that be a bit anoying?

if you are connected to BES and it is within a network (say company LAN) with internet access (via proxy server for example), then you can still surf the internet without toggling connection.
the connection basically goes from P910i via telco GPRS to your company LAN then out to the internet.

The Blackberry email client is currently only available on the Blackberry device. We are aware of the product , however the software is not supported in the UK. This may be available in the future.
If there is anything else we can help you with, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Kind Regards,

I sent them a follow up mail as per below:
Thank you for your reply. Can you advise me which company would be responsible for the lack of support you mention below. I can therefore continue dialogue with the appropriate company.
The reason I ask is that I am lead to believe that the software support is the reposnsibility of the network providor as the handset has proven to be comaptible and RIM have released all that they need to enable other providors to offer this service to the same handsets. If my information is incorrect it would be appreictaed if you could put me right.
Let's see what they come back with!

I do hope you get an answer.
SE Singapore and Singtel (telco) only points the finger at each other. SE Singapore Customer Service hotline is hopeless and could not answer anything except points to Singtel. And they did not get their manager or some technical guy to call me back as promise.
only reason I'm still using this phone is that basically it is a great phone. But the customer service is terrible.

I got an asnwer - about as helpful a I thought it would be
Many thanks for your email.
As per previous email regarding the software for the Blackberry email client it is not at present approved or endorsed by Vodafone UK.
The software we provide with our phones is to get optimum performance out of the handset and anything additional software you add to your device is at your risk.
Kind Regards,
strikes me that without blackberry then the phone is NOT being used to optimum performance!

Been looking at getting a new handset, my P900 is a bit worse for wear... The P910i looked like the answer due to my company looking towards blackberrys... Should have known it wouldnt be that easy!

d8raiders - I hate such official unhelpful standard replies.
Caspa - me too. I bought this P910i when my company's telco account manager said that it will be available but what she did not tell me (anyway, I don't think she did not know then either) that the version launched is so dated and lacked of features.
