I'm with T0mobile USA, I can use Opera with WAP only plans (no need for full internet) just have to set proxy.

l have tmobile here in phoenix and when the same happened to me i was told that they (tmobile) realized that lots of people were basically getting free internet as a result of having html browsers like opera on their phones. tmobile was losing money so they closed port 80 and now to surf internet their full internet service is required. kinda pricey too

If you have T-mobile and wap only plans, go into Opera click edit>preferences>arrow right until you get to Proxy tab. Check proxy enable box, server name put in 216.155.165.50 and port 8080. You should now be able to use Opera with WAP gprs.

I am with Vodafone (UK) and have the same problem! Cannot use Opera to open internet pages. I tried to look for the proxy server and number under Conrol Panel, but in my Vodafone GPRS account, they are empty (Use proxy server box is not click).
What can I do?
I have Vodafone GPRS and Vodafone MMS GPRS account on my phone.
Thanks!
