wow, that is one heck of an error message. I'm not exactly sure where to start on that one.

My usual suggestion is to try multiple browsers though. IE works on some peoples systems and not on others, the same is true of Firefox. You might want to try Opera if you have it as well.

E Access Violation messages usually meaning transmission problem or program cannot interact with the device. Try uninstalling and reinstalling your syncstation drivers again.

I have just completed updating mine. At first I was using Firefox 1.0.3 to get the update but it won't let me enter my CDA. I switched to IE and it won't allow me to download the file due to security in IE. Got that sorted out and the update just took me about 27 minutes or less via the company WAN. Now my phone is updated to R4D006.

@gbrooks3: Im able to perform sync and backup using the sync-station, just unable to perform the update So you mean to unstall then re-install the sync-station driver?

Problem is always on Java. I have tried at first uninstall MS JVM and install latest 1.5.0 Sun's Java VM. But it worked only under Firefox, not in IE (try to open page http://java.com/en/download/help/testvm.xml). Then I have installed version 1.4.1 - it did not helped. Then I have tried version 1.3.1 and this helped me - java started to work even in IE. After that I have installed newest 1.5.0 once more (over the old, withou uninstalling the old one). Now on the a/m page I can see, that java is working in my browsers. But it did not helped me. I received the same error message as you. In fact - nothing helped. I updated successfully 3 days ago on another computer with clear new installations of SE PC Suice, SE Update Service, DSS drivers and SUN Java 1.5.0. (I had to upgrade via dial-up connections because our corporate firewall blocked the applets and I allways got the error message "Unknown error". I had also to stop my antivirus program which has blacked the applets as well). If anybody know where the problem exactly lies, I am interested in the solution as well...

Yes, reinstall the syncstation driver. All i know is that with many many other programs EAccess Violations means problem with interfacing between device and program. Java of course is the program.
