I don't see why my included USB cable wouldn't work, after all, the SyncStation is simply a desktop charger with a USB cable attached...
Either way, I'll be able to buy it for significantly less than the price on Teconi 'cause I work in the industry and get staff discounts.

The software has to support the cable - a USB cable should have ftdi compatibility for flash - maybe you cable does have this but the softare author would also have to have it to create support for it.

So you reckon Emma'll be hard to find eh?
As hard as it is to find Nokia's "Phoenix" (the technician/developer version of the Nokia Data Suite)?
I used to know a guy that could get me Phoenix (sadly, he doesn't work in AU anymore)!
It's all in the know; you've only gotta know the right people and I might know a guy that can get me a copy (actually, the guy I'm referring to could probably flash my Z1010 with new firmware FOR me if I asked)!

I just had a thought- does DaVinci (or any of the other packages) offer operator-specific firmware (eg. "vodafone live!" firmware)?
Where do DaVinci and others get their firmware from; Sony Ericsson?
The last thing I wanna do is upload some buggy, home-made firmware...

Ps,bitches owe me a credit for not having a decent instruction manual!

Sooo, does anyone know if you can upload operator-specific firmware (eg. vodafone live!) firmware using the above methods and programs (especially DaVinci)?
Do they offer the operator-specific firmware in the same way they offer generic firmware?

As you seem to know about EMMA just grab them from the server then flash the binaries with davinci or even setool.

Actually, I don't "know" EMMA (I hadn't heard of it until this thread!), I was saying I had heard of Phoenix, the Nokia equivalent...

ok well send a message to the makers of davinci / TMS or whoever and ask them to add the file to their support. I think in setool support area there are Voda and 3 firmware versions for the Z1010.

Cool!
When I (eventally) get a computer, I can upload vodafone live! firmware, instead of the 3 sh*t I've got on my Z1010 now!
