miss copperfield made a very good point there. One of the biggest problems with PCs is that there are too many different manufacturers making the various different parts for them.

If you buy a cheap and nasty PC from the likes of PC World then it will have cheap and nasty parts in it that are likely to malfunction more often than better quality parts. It's not always Windows itself that goes wrong, rather the hardware that it's controlling.

Macs on the otherhand, use components from only a handfull of tried and tested manufacturers, custom built and produced to extremely high standards of quality and reliability. That's why Macs cost so much

I built my Athlon XP PC myself using expensive parts, If I had spent the same amount of money at PC world I could have got a much more powerful system. 8 Months on, (touch wood) I've had no problems with it whatsoever

...OK, it seems that no one have any experience with PB 17". I must really say to all of you that immediately HAVE to shoot in promotions for PC's when you read anything about Apple: please stop with that - its very irritating. The debate Mac/PC seems not to be relevant for people that smoothly can handle both.

Didn't you read my post above saying my boss has a 17" PowerBook? I use it every week...

Miss Copperfield has a 12" PB, and they're the same except for the screen-size, so there are people with experience! What are you looking for?

...OK, I actually thought about that, that you 2, Cop & Jools might arrest me for ignoring you guys, but I'm ONLY interested in the 17" version though, because I have ordered one together with some stash (yeah, only electronics this time). I'm well into the AppleWorld, and have many friends using Mac's, but no one have the 17", so that is my issue. I'm receiving a 17" with 2 GB ram, and am mostly using CS2 for visuals + keyboards and other stuff from M-AUDIO to make some music. I would like to know if the latest 17" got any specific issues of any kind, bad (or good), something that might be related to the machine in general, and not one specimen.
