I am experiencing the same problem with my P900. I just can't explore the files on my P900. It just stop working all of the sudden.
I've installed the newest version of the SonyEricsson Suite but no luck at all.

Hmm....this might seem strange, but I just reinstalled the PC suite for my p910 today, after doing a cleanup of unwanted software on my laptop.. I have Mc Afee AV & windows firewall both on....I connected the sync-station after installing PC suite and ....my phone showed connected in about 5 seconds !!
I switched the laptop off and restarted it....and same joy second time....Frankly, i dont know what I did right ( or wrong) but am content with the fact that it worked right the first time without any heartache for me
PS: Im using Desktop File manager...and it allows me to access the entire file system on the phone...not just the basic folders as in the PC suite file manager.

You need to uninstall the SW and then do a register clean and then reinstall. It seems like the installshield doesn't remove everything

SE MY Phones is a piece of crap. I've tried using it many times, and even when it half works, I get dropped connections on a regular basis.
Use myphoneexplorer,

or if using a bluetooth dongle use the file manager that comes with the bluetooth software, they usually works well.

I have same problem. I used float's mobile agent for some time. But it has stopped working also. Now i don't bother & use sw that came with my bluetooth adaptor, which thankfully has all & more options as the SE software.

I had a similar problem with my k800i. It would show the phone in the file manager the 1st time of using it, but not the 2nd 3rd etc, forcing me to reboot.
What I did instead of rebooting was just restart explorer: press CTRL+ALT+DEL, go to Task Manager>Processes, find "explorer" and press End Process, then go to Applications>New Task and type "explorer" to start a new explorer process.
Open up file manager, and my phone would now show up.
I know it's a slightly different problem, but maybe it will help some others...
