Sorry people but after a few days with 910i i am overall very disappointed - i tried to let it redeem itself by trying many different things - and fair enough some do work well and provide a certain level of satisfaction - watching films is good, speakers for music are good, the camera is okish, the menu system is okish but the bottom line is ive had a microsoft smartphone (2 generations of SPVs and the awesome motorola mpx 200) for past few years and the symbian software is alot more work - alot slower and just plain stupid sometimes - i am making a generalisation here as i have only had the 910i but from what i gather this is the latest symbian - believe me it feels like ive been running xp for years and all of a sudden ive got a brick with windows 98 on it - no thanks - good forum here but im going back to ms with the mpx 220 - so good luck people
Ps. I hate microsoft but they've got me by the balls

P910i slower than the MPX200????
you have got to be joking! i work in the Carphone warehouse mate and have been a longterm user of both! MPX200 absolutely suckss... bigtime!
literally, when deep in the menu it takes 4 or 5 full secs for it to respond to button presses! and it crashes twice a day! (at least)
also, i bought it as a secondary phone to use my free minutes on it! and guess what, brand new MPX200 would give me 56min exactly talktime when fully charged up!!!! now THAT is CRAP my friend!
theres moway on earth that a Microshite OS can beat a Symbian OS device! i will prove it upon facts if you argue!
Regards
Yav.

ive already made my case - you're for sure wrong regarding talk time battery life though - that thing lasted for hours for me - get a new battery - indeed the symbian system is stable and the ms 'shite' on the mx 200 can go a bit dodge sometimes....but overall i still prefer it for reasons previously mentioned

The MPX200 was so bad that CPW were giving it away with 12 months' free line rental, in September last year. My sister's got one. Possibly the worst MS platform device ever released (if not the first Orange SPV).
To mention it in the same sentence as the P-series is surely sacrilege?!

true, i do think though, our P910s should be more like PCs, i mean the opition to install other OS's on our phones would be great

personaly i love p910

have handled a XDA II and its ok, apart from the drop-a-blity factor, its so slipperry, but the menus and everything else seems to be all over the place, just my views anyway
With the right tools for flashing, installing Linux should not pose much of a problem.
But basically: why? I have a Psion Series 5mx, on which I installed PsiLinux for the heck of it, and I found out that EPOC -- and in extension Symbian -- is a pretty good operating system with some nice tools.

i think you just bought the phone at the wrong time. Its getting pretty out dated now. I bought the p900 when it first came out and I was amazed. Now there are a lot of phones with those features, so its not really a big deal.

hold a minute guys, 1st of all yav, the phone your talking about the mpx200 is a couple of yrs old, its not fair to talk about it like that when comparing with the 910i, i am sure when the phone 1st came out (mpx200) was the dogs bullocks or maybe 2 x bullocks at the time it came out. but now there is a knew version of the mpx200 which is called the mpx220 which i have is also is known to be the dogsbullocks too

. and by the way guys, you lot are starting to believe in what yav is saying, i am sure i heard alot of esatonians that have been complaining about the cpw staffs dont no sh*t about phones lol

i mean how can a phone last upto 56 minutes in talk time man? maybe you didnt do the 14 hours charge that you guys tells us about. mmm you talk the talk but you dont walk the walk

A side note concerning speed of the P910.
By my experience, the thing that takes more speed out of the P9x0 are some desktop themes (skins). Specially backgrounds in menus and stuff.
If you feel your P9x0 sluggish, try switching to the Classic theme and see if it improves.
