ok mate calm down ok...all im saying that there is a limit in quality when you've only got 176 by 144 pixels veiwable...im not arguing that the technology wont be good for mobiles...it will be great to have better quality vids with less MBs to use.
all im saying that is to get optimum quality from H.264 you need a high resolution screen...

i use H264 and it looks great.
if mobiles had this technology, we wouldnt have ppl wining all the time about how crap the qaulity of the video on their k700 is !!!!
its just a shame that in a site like a Esato, where more than 50% act like experts (as soon as u ask something) noone really knows or has mentioned anything about H264 !!!

even if you take vid from your HD camera and reduce them to 176 by 144 you are still limited to that amount of pixels which is ok for phones but doesnt do the original HD video any justice does it??

i dunno I think H264 in mobile phone is great!!! Coz not only u can view in the mobile.. u can transfer it to a pc and watch it.. which i normally do to save the moments... so H264 is great!! Why watch it in the mobile while u can store it in the pc and rip it a cd..

The POINT is: the H264 standard is BETTER than ANY OTHER standard and there IS NO REASON for not using it, at all.
The QUESTION is: WHY they prevent us from using it in our mobile phones? It's just a question of creating a new firmware and make it available to us. Nothing else.
I just can't understand ...
Does anyone knows any way of play H264 encoding files on W800!?! They can be in a 3gp format, mp4 or whatever.

H.264 support is coming to mobile devices slowly.The new nvidia go5500 supports h.264 in hardware so does arm9e (somewhat limited) series as i know. Not sure if the Nexperia 4008 (?) processor for p990 support h.264 in hardware,but i have read somewhere it support h.264 but its not mentioned in specs or anywhere.

5th Generation iPod (iPod with video) uses h.264 as its native codec, and it looks brilliant on the screen. Even with TV-out on a 32" it looks quite good (considering the video is optimized for iPod)
