Ok, this is my experience with debranding and changing CDA. I had a phone that was branded with a Swedish operator. The first thing I did was trying the SEUS, and it didn't work (not allowed), even that SEUS had newer firmware (was on R2AA back then). Tried to debrand the phone with Davinci, but it failed and only flashed the main firmware. I could use the phone, but the only language supported was English. Then, I tried to use SEUS, i now had another firmware, but SEUS didn't work, (not allowed) I looked in the log, and the program just seems to check IMEI and main firmware. So I did use davinci again, and changed firmware and CDA, and now I can use SEUS. So if SEUS looks at the IMEI, then I wouldn't be allowed to use the service, but I can use it. I'm a little confused about this.

Thats very interesting Milton.

I changed it to swedish general CDA, was unsure if I should change it to EU_4 or to country specific CDA, but I read somewhere that most people think the country specific CDAs are better (The ones that end with 98 before the / mark.

I believe that SEUS has changed since the P900 debacle. Previously, what has been said here was correct. SEUS checked the IMEI against the CDA and both had to match for the upgrade to work. However, I flashed my Orange P910i with generic firmware, through EMMA II. I was then able to use SEUS to upgrade my firmware when R4A10 was released. Apparently

have made some changes to the most recent version of SEUS, so that the IMEI is, indeed, not checked for operator-specific firmware.
