dyndragon,
My HBH-300 is brand new - I only received it from Amazon yesterday! It works superbly with my K700, my Nokia 6230i and my Samsumg D500. I can only conclude that the problem lies in the Bluetooth implementation in the K750i firmware.
I've written a very detailed email to Sony Ericsson about it, and will let everyone know what they say when I get the reply. I've asked them to acknowledge the fault, and to assure me that it will be fixed with a firmware revision. (I'm hoping!). I also pointed out that the HBH-300 is specifically listed as a K750i-compatible accessory on the SE website.
Other users may not even be fully aware of the problem. I would ask them to do the test I suggested a few posts ago.

I assume this is why ive been unable to get voice activiation or calling to work over the headset. Can someone confirm that there is or is not currently a firmware upgrade option to fix this at the moment?

thelight,
I'm checking my email frequently hoping to get confirmation of this from Sony Ericsson. No reply yet.
Just to confirm, my voice tags don't work either - well maybe one in ten attempts...
I know a lot of people have said that there are bound to be issues with early firmware, but one might have expected SE to test the compatibility of its own accessories before listing them as compatible on its website. I bought my HBH-300 on the strength of that, and am really disappointed.
Otherwise, great phone - but I've been forced to swap my SIM into my Nokia 6230i for long car journeys in order to use my headset - a bit of a pain. Ironic that I have to turn to another manufacturer's phone in order to use a Sony Ericsson product.

Just one more thing for now - I would really encourage HBH-300 and K750i owners to email Sony Ericsson about this issue, or else they won't do anything about it.
Other Bluetooth headsets and car kits don't seem to work well with the K750i either. It's a shame really as the T68i had great Bluetooth implementation and that was years ago. You'd think it would get better, not worse.

Me again... Got this reply from Sony Ericsson this afternoon:
"With regards to your enquiry, this current issue has been passed to the relevant department and will be answered in due course.
Should you require any further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us again for further help and support."
Not much help, but I thought I'd post it anyway to keep you guys up to date.

Maybe you should try to trade yours in on a service-center too.. I have used the HBH-660 for a couple of hours today, works fine. I can hardly feel its on my ear.. my HBH-300 was alot heavier.

@dyndragon
I will do that - although it may be next week before I get a proper reply.
@klorin
I like the HBH-300, especially the very long battery life. But if it looks like I have to wait a long time for a fix, then I will definitely try the HBH-660. Thanks

if a sony service center will swap, i'd go for that if the fix will take too long. if someone goes and tries that, let us know how it goes, and where you went. I dont want to have to spend another $60 for my 3rd bluetooth headset...
