Unfortuantely the networks do have this 100kb restriction and I have been told by a certain phone shop that the firmware restriction is probably there to stop people creating messages that the network will not allow you to send as it confuses people when they send a 100kb+ MMS only to have it say failed 10 minutes later.

It IS network specific. O2 have a 100kb limit for MMS too. Most networks are turning this way as it is costing them a lot in data. Even sending MMS to an email address has the 100kb limit.

Anyone know if Orange have the same limit?

On the website it says 0-50kb = 1mms
and above 50kb = 2... but it doesn't specifiy a maximum size.

Yes, networks also limit the max. size of the MMS. At the moment it's from 100 KB to 300 kB. But there's usually also the limit in the device, which reflects the size the operators are allowing at that moment. For example Nokia 6630 and 6680 has the 300 kB limit.

Not sure if your name means you're affiliated with orange.... but do you know what the Orange limit is on the k750i?

My nick has nothing to do with the operator. Just a coincidence. So, I don't know what's the limit in Orange.

If the limitations is there to easy up for the user not to send to big MMS, I then think there should be a way to turn the limitation of for "advanced" users!

I am on Telia network in sweden.

I have an SE K500i and with that phone I can send videoclips up to 30sec. with MMS (prox 250kB)
But when i film with my K750i in MMS mode, I can't even shot longer clips than 10sec.!
Tryed again to put my sim back to the K500i from my K750i, and in the K500i phone I had no prob sending 250kB MMS! so its not any sim/netwrk related problems.
Think the problem is in the phones firmware!

I have again sent a request to SE support Center that they should remove the limitation... but maybe its only me that complains? (=no actions from SE)

Wrong, wrong wrong. It is network limited. I worked for Wataniya in Kuwait and it was limited to 100KB. One reason is that people would get these stupid enormous data usage bills and freak out and guess what: NOT USE THE SERVICE. No service usage. No revenue. Think about it. 10 x 100kb = 1 meg. How many providers offer unlimited data services for a cheap price? Survey says: None. Data is the hot ticket for the operators. Here in Finland they have 3G networks and no video calls. Is this the fault of SE? No again. The operators have not implemented it yet.
