are you sure that your "datacable" is not a flash/service cable?

if it is a flash/service cable, you have to modify it first. search for the topic thread if that is the case.

well, if you bought an original cable from ericsson, then it should work (unless there are problems with it).

but i noticed that you enclosed your datacable with quotation marks, so i wondered.

My bro-in-law is also using the same datacable. Its functioning smoothly. If ever, how will i modify mine? Or do i really need to buy the ericsson one? Abt the IRDA, how much is that? How will i operate it? Do i need any software for that? This post was posted from a T68i

is your brother in law an esato user too?

IrDA is fine if you would use it for other devices you got, but if it's just the phone the datacable is fine. i got a data cable (a flash cable converted by a fellow esato user) for less than USD 7.

why dont you ask your brother in law to test your cable? if the cable works for him, then it really is a problem with your setup.
