Take a loo at the guide the axxxr posted near the beginning of this thread. Its the one I followed way back when I took mine apart. All I'll say is be careful and:-

Remember which way the slide in clips went for the screen.

Be careful of the srews that hold the swivel section in place as they as very tight (:se: have used locktight on them)

The lens cover on the camera is made of glass so be very careful when removing it from the silver casing as it can crack very easily.

Make sure you put the mic back in the right way so that the contacts touch the correct places on the circuit board (I made this mistake).

The screws are very easy to round off so make sure you use the correct tools.

Just take your time doing it and you will be fine.

Oh maybe buying some brush on superglue and a tube of superglue remover would be a good idea as some of the parts will need to be reattached to the new housing.

I got in a jacuzzi yesterday morning and guess what... Yes, that's right, I had my S700i in my pocket.

I found this thread and started to take it apart by looking at the chinese pictures. I got to the bottom of the first page (picturte 6) where I'm supposed to take the circiut board out of the main body, but I can't seem to get it out. I am using a lot of force too. I''m nearly cracking the case.

Is there some trick to removing the board? It seems to be stuck down by the camera button on the side.

Cheers

Graeme

OK I've done it. I don't know how I did it, but it's out. The third row of buttons doesn't work though (7-9) any ideas why? (apart from cos I went swimming with it)

Circuit board unclips at the top and sides. Then slide it up from the charger point connectors.

I just have to change my story:

I wrote this in another thread earlier this summer.I got two housings for my S700i,one silver and one black.I spend practically the whole day dissassembling and reassembling my phone. The first mistake was when i opened it the first time,i lost one of the microscopic springs from the microphone...Well i got that fixed with a DIY spring thingy i made myself. The second thing i failed to notice was that the new housings didn't have the metal square in the swivel part of the phone,so the phone didn't recognice when the phone was close or when it was open I got some cold swet at this part of the operation...The phone just kept telling me to close the phone.Well after some 5 times or so taking it apart i found out what the problem was and finaly got it fixed.
So keep this in mind when attempting to change the housing yourselfs.

That's mie 5c.

May as well buy an aftermarket one and also buy a screen protector. Would be miles cheaper. This message was posted from a S700

BtW- if service centers can do it, isn't it better to get orignal stuff ?
Pity, that 710a isn't launched here. So getting a good black fascia is tuff
