Doz, you got a tough choice to make bro !

Its very much gonna be "your" call ..

Since email is going to be of concern, maybe let THAT override other priorities.

After using P8, I myself would rather move on to Symbians only. But MicroSoft too have added to good competition.

Imate would be quiet okkaayy. Nope. It wont drain as such, unless you leave it unlocked. Its a power app. with a decent multimedia device + phone combo.
Then again it is NOT a SE

no such thing because there is a option in switching off the screen then the screen bcomes inactive, then you can put it in ur trousers pocket or shirt pocket. the jam comes with a pouch which is really good.

normal usage is about 2half day, but heavy usage i can only tell you about my usage because i normally speak for 2 hours a day and it can last from lets say early hours in the morning till the next day early morning. aaahhh that also includes listening to mp3's and watching film clips. lol i hope that makes sense.

listning to mp3 with the screen off you can do easially 5 hours or more, but watching a divx movie or play games, it hardly lasts for 3 hours. But one time I made a phonecall of 60 minutes (screen turns off automatically) it only drained 10% battery level. I can use internet (gprs) for 2 hours straight.

It's not much compaired to other phones, but it is average for PDA's.

howdy,

i had a similar problem, didnt know wether to get p910 or a xda.

I ended up getting the xda 2s, and im happy with it, easy to use ( once ytou get the hang of th os) fully customiseable, with tonnes of games and software, and with the better cpu, the movies run alot smoother and even sound better!

i have to charge the batt every 2 or 3 days, which is the same is my old p910 ( got damaged, insurance let me choose any phone i wanted.

as for dialing numbers, there is a freeware program around, have to remember the name, but you use voice dialling, push a the top right button then say " call 0412858835" in a clear voice, and it calls for you, no need to touch the screen or get the stylus out, pretty cool, also works for media player and other programs eg." play sum41" and it plays it

oh, and you can turn screen of whilke playing tunes, jsut press the standbuy button, and the phone goes into standby while playing music.

oh, and quick note, i can use it to plat movies for 6 hours straight before i get battery warnings, which i think is pretty cool, plus mem cards are about half the price of duos, which is a major benefit!

anyway, hope this helps, i love the p910, dont get me wrong, but the xda2s kicks its ass imo!!! but ultimatly its up to you, the imate-jam ( also known as xda mini) or p910 or both good phones, or you just get a sheapy and wait for "hermione" lol

I have a p910i and an ipaq 6340, both are good, if i need a phone more than an organiser i take the p910i with me, (especially if the wife is with me ) otherwise i am getting used to the Ipaq, my only gripe about the Ipaq is the position of the mike and the earpiece which is set for right eaar listening if you know what I mean.
I just have to crack how to get it to acknowledge the ringtones i have put on and I'm laughing. Battery power not really an issue as it is in the cradle when not in the pouch. I like th wifi on it as I have a wifi network at home.

I also like Microsoft voice on it which i bought, voice dialling and voice control is added to the system, doesnt need a lot of training.
I wouldnt use it on the holidays to france as the P910i will do what I need when away and lasts longer between charges.

If anyone can help with getting the phone(iPaq) to acknowledge the ringtones please pm me.
