I have MagicLauncher as well. I have upgraded to Doc2Go ver 2.001 over my old 2.00 without any problems...

Thanks for the info, people. I'm going to try to install the upgrade myself after the WE. I'll post results here.

Just put R5A02 firmware on and re-installed all the stuff I wanted clean with the new version of DocumentsToGo and all works fine with no battery problems.
I had the purchased version of QuickOffice installed previously (not just the P910i firmware version) so suspect it was this or MagicLauncher it was conflicting with.
Don't have either installed & DocumentsToGo is great.

It's a bit later than I thought, but I finally got around to installing the DXTG (that's the official abbreviation the cool dudes at Dataviz use for this app!) upgrade on my Pee-with-Magic-Launcher.
The upgrade installed without problemsi!
Things I did differently (partly advised by the support people from Dataviz):
- Uninstalled the previous version of DXTG (as recommended);
- after installing the upgrade, I did not immediately power off my phone, but first started all the DXTG applications in turn and answered "yes" to the question of making them the default application, ignoring the message about needing to power off the phone to get things working properly;
- only then did I go through a power cycle.
Everything works, including Magic Launcher. Now on to play...
PS: I would like to add a polite "Yay Dataviz Support Team!" cheer for their swift and accurate reply to my question, involving what was basically a concern about a fault in an application that was not theirs.

Sorry to digress slightly.........I still have the trial version (not the upgrade) on my P910 so still checking out its capabilities. appart from the obvious benefits which i note are quite good compared to Quickoffice, I'm dissapointed to note the following:
1. The app does not seem to support 'Word art' but only text boxes in word documents?
2. The app does not allow you to see/edit the text within word documents footer and header?
3. The app does not provide an overall veiw of the word document so you cannot see the full layout e.g. where is the last line of text relative to the bottom of the page?
4. Once you have edited or created a new word document how are you suppose the know whether it fits on one page or how many pages there are in total?
5. I note all files must be located in the documents..unfilled folder on the phone otherwise the app doesnt list the files?
Anyone know if the above is correct or am i doing something wrong?

@dannycol:
I can certainly confirm your points 2, 3 and 4.
Substantial limitations to be sure, but I've bought the app on the understanding that it's an editing tool, just that, and that to produce a doc for "public" consumption will require post-processing on a PC.
I paid just £17 for it (or the equivalent of) after the $20 discount for Quickoffice users -- I can live with that.

@ Dannycol:
1. nope
2. Yes it does. It's under "View": Endnotes, Footnotes and Comments are all there.
3. nope
4. you can't
5. I have several subfolders in the "Documents" folders.The files from those show up fine. Maybe you have only "Unfiled" selected in the folder selector (top right of the menu pane).
As far as the lack of page formatting/viewing goes, it may be that that's due to the dumbass omission of a printing subsystem in UIQ (why I'll never know; EPOC's worked almost perfectly).

But he was asking about headers and footers, which are not the same thing. As far as I can see, you can neither view nor edit headers and footers with this app -- but I would love to be corrected!

Thanks for all your comments..
I note the facility to view footnotes and endnotes but Not headers and footers which is a problem for me.. alot of my docs are dated in the footer so i'm unable to change the date when editing.
Not being able to determine the layout of text whether all the text is on one page or two is a slight problem for me as i prefer to get it on one page where possible, rather than produce a letter and land up with 'yours sincerely' at the bottom of the first page and your name only left on the top of the 2nd page!
Not supporting word art is a slight problem as my letter head logo is made from Wort Art, although i note once you have edited the doc and emailed it to someone the original logo is retained, unaffected which is good, just the inability to read or edit it on the phone is the downside.
I checked the file locatation on the phone and as previously said, i need to put all files in the documents unfiled folder (either internal or memory card, or in both) for the files to show up in the app list, i have the folder/menue selection to 'All'. I have transfered windows folders from my pc that contain word docs and put them via memory card reader into the unfilled folder, but the contents of windows folders does not show in the app list. i can open them however through file manager! I note that only when i create a new folder through the app on the phone and shunt docs into it, they will then show in the app list? This is most dissapointing as i would like to transfer several named folders from my pc for easy editing and ditribution from the phone? Seems i need to go into file manager to do it?
I wondered if the new upgrade made any difference to the above points? I also not that there are more advance versions of Documents to go that do a lot more for Palm users, but we UIQ users are stuck with the basics..
