No I never said anything about capping.

But you said "My partner however ended up having it changed to 600 text" - surely this is a result of your partner using what they would consider to be excess useage?

You should keep your old deal, with unlimited free text, and unlimited free access to mobile internet through the GSM dial-up number. They shouldn't really change your tariff just because you need a replacement SIM, but I guess that's O2 for you.

On a side note, can you send MMS on that tariff? I only ask because O2 have consistently refused to allow me to use this service due the old Genie tariff I'm on, which is immensely frustrating to say the least.

Losing my sim didn't result in my tariff changing with regards to unlimited texting (as far as I'm aware), that happened somewhere along the line (god knows when).

Through a lot of asking questions (no thanks to O2) and searching on the net I've found that users who have the old BT Genie sims (as we do) can not access MMS or GPRS, only wap.

Excess can come in different flavours, it depends who you ask doesn't it? For example I NEVER use voice minutes but I send a lot of text. My partner uses the same amount of text, waps a lot and uses a lot of voice minutes. So by nature you'd consider that I'm a low value customer, hence not losing my unlimiteds.

You can't really complain too much for a tariff like that with a K750 for £10 a month.
