Hey Jas,
Despite the several months old crack, the button still works well on my W850i. But, then again, I'm not a heavy d-pad user, most of all, I don't play games a lot.
Cheers.
Seriously this is a real problem!
I really wanted to buy this mobile but now 2 problems there ,NO AF and this D-Pad Crack...
I really feel bad about the crack thing which has stopped me from buying w850 , i would have lived without AF , but now crack problem!
It really is a big problem , they invented such a nice mobile set and then didn't even use some good quality d-pad , then they call this mobile their flagship ! lol , it doesn't even have autofocus and they call it there flagship , if they really want the set to be there flagship then why not just spent a bit more money on buying a good plastic
Its not actualy

flagship. Its now the k810 and w850 never was and its unlikely a w series phone ever will be SE's flagship. I personaly think the w850 is the better phone out of th k800 but before the k810 the k800 was SE's flag ship

Cracked D-pad is a problem that is pretty much typical of the W850 only because that part is made of plastic that is not flexible enough. Your phone may well belong to the batch where this issue has been addressed (and hopefully eliminated). If not, cracks will probably appear in time but will not affect the functionality of the d-pad or the phone as a whole in any way.
Cheers!

There is a chance of your phone ending up either way, with or without cracks. Since this thread has not seen any new posts for quite a while, it may be reasonable to assume that later batches of the W850 that came off the production line no longer have this problem or the lack of posts can be simply attributed to the fading interest in this particular model.
