is still a new company it takes lots of money to do adds, and since
phones are better and can do much more things the have less profit on there phones, then nokia has on there old tech phones.

We're talking sony here. The company has a very good track record with marketing (playstation?) it'll take time to get the right phones with the right features to target the right markets. Once the products are in place the Sony will probably look to swing it's marketing machine into top gear.
My problem is why don't Sony ship some of the designers of the minidisk players I always drooled over? and switch tack with the lower budget phones to deliver nice similarly designed (modular/identical component like nokia) phones and offer a new one every 3months like the minidisk market did with a variety of beautiful shiny phones.
As for the subject of No1? well I thought Ericcson was the market leader when it comes to mobile equipment. I'm not sure where Sony are within the consumer electronics market but there No1 in my book.
Once they get used to working together it should be a big player.

2. 2mb is NOT enough for a phone like the T610, just trust me on that one, if you want to use its features, u need more (Picture CID, etc). Thats why i got the P800. The T610 is a great phone, but the memory is enough to cripple it. it may be ok for the general public, but the power users are going to be annoyed. I have a T68i, T300, P800, and am constantly running out of memory on the lower end phones.
3. The Nokia 7250 is nice. It will be popular. And so will the T610, however, I suspect a slight reversal will happen with the T610, in that it will probably target more "mainstream" users, whereas the techies will go for the 7250 coz of the larger memory.
4. P800 is a decent phone. Its not "perfect" but good enough for me. The camera is not as good as the MCA-25. Also i NEED J2ME MIDP 2.0. Games are stunning though!
5. I do not like the "look" of the 3650, I think its butt ugly, but agree that it is a decent phone with great features, and will be popular. And will hopefully get more intrest in Symbian.
6. Bugs, I have known all phones to have bugs in some way or another. However, i have yet to see serious software bugs in any of my phones. My T68i froze about 3 times in one year. My P800 "bombed" once (whilst I was doing somethgin stupid) I had a nok 6210 (CRAP! screen broke with heat, probelematic arial, but i agree it must have been my phone) Nok 8210 (never crashed, no problems, until the battery connector damaged.)
I like SE more than Nokia, but thats subjective. Look, whatever it is, support either company, and just dont let Microsoft enter the mobile phone market. I woudl rather own a Nokia 3650 than a MS "Stinker" Smartphone. Now thats a scarey thought.....

On the other hand the T610 doesn't belong to the 2004 line-up of SE phones. The T610 completly crushes the 7250 (which is Nokias 2003 line-up). SE will most likely have a replacement for the T610 in 2004. It's not like SE stops developing phones.
Nokia has not made a complete phone so far, every phone is crippled in some way. And the features on the phone always seems to have limitations. Look at the IR transfers and the bluetooth implementation of Nokia phones. Nokia produces crap phones compared to the competition.

Just because Nokia sell more phones doesn't mean that they are better. It's all about marketing. I know many Nokia users who just complain about their Nokia phones, but they still buy Nokia the next time.
The Nokia phones are still crap compared to the phones of companies like SE, Siemens, Samsung. Nokia phones are average at the best.
It's always marketing which makes dominance not quality of the products. Just look at Windows, VHS (the video standard). They were both inferior to the other solutions, and still they gained market dominance. Just like Nokia.

yes but the people who buys nokia phones are the ones who makes the company no.1 even if they complain about their phones. one thing good about nokia is they fix the problem right away before it's too late. if SE does nothing to improve their company then ericsson may fold but not sony. so it would be the end i suppose. i have a gut feeling that nokia knows what to do in the future to increase the gap and out sell the competition. i am just waiting for their move. in the bluetooth dept. they have made some cool devices for bluetooth use. i just checked it out in their website. i do not usually go there and i was once a nokia user before i switched to SE then switching again to siemens for sure and samsung.
