Nah, time for a seperate P9XX forum - it hurts to see what my P800 isnīt able to do yet..

But: Iīve never been prompted to enter area name, neither FO or FC - is this still a p8 bug or is there something wrong with my network? (yes, itīs always 'uncertain recognition')

Yeah me too i think it is a soft bug for P800

@wollyka

Iīve been prompted to enter an area name in my office - it only took 231 min. ! Yeah - rock! Unfortunately my home took about 730 min. and didnīt ask me at all..

There must be at least half a P800-frontview-god

FrontView beta 3 version is downloadable from the http://cellphonesoft.com Download page. Major new features include:

- Cleanup exclusions and automatic execution on flip close.
- Missed call and unread SMS shown on screensaver.
- New SMS read conflict fixed.
- Power key disabled in locked state.
- Unlock on pressing OK and * keys.
- Application shortcuts configurable in Edit menu and invoked by jog dial up/down.
- OK key can be configured to launch first shortcut.
- Color options for flip closed indicators.
- Background image can be changed in Preferences.
- Alternative status information dialogs for P800.
- Area, Note and Help dialogs are disabled on P800 when flip is closed.

Your earlier FrontView settings (like your private note) will be lost when installing this version. This is because of changing the options structure. Named areas (if any) are preserved. See the beta.txt file in the downloaded .zip file for a full change log and known issues.

Please test thoroughly as there are major new features introduced. Let us know about any problem that was _not_reported_ earlier (we keep precise records on all comments so far). Known requested features will be added in subsequent betas or later discussed/explained here if we want to omit something.

Thanks for looking at our stuff!

@Lisa
Looks Great, but some first comments:

- You can not exit the shortcut list by pushing the jog dial back. Also the list does not dissapear if nothing is pressed for a while.
- Got a crash when first installed
- I can't find an option to get rid of the status icons
- I can not figure out what the indicator in preferences is supposed to do. No matter to what I change it, it doesn't seem to have an effect. Plus every time I enter preferences, it always displays Logo, no matter what last setting was
- Scrolling to the different shortcuts is quite slow
- Autostart on power on is still missing

Much improved beta overall!

Missed call and missed sms (c and s) on screen saver don't have a real use. If screen saver is running and a new sms or missed call occurs the default message "you have 1 new message" stays on top of the screensaver

All changes look good, although as a whole the original beta was simpler to navigate and it was more intuitively laid out.

Two problems remain for me - one large, one small.

This application seems to have a horrendous effect on battery life (P910i) - it is draining it like nothing else, and leading to me having to recharge at less than 24 hour intervals. Nothing else of significance has changed except the installation of FrontView. This could be a make-or-break, but I don't know how you would solve it.

Far more minor - it is a little bit irritating that the battery indicator doesn't work on the P910i. I just hate having useless icons

This should be fairly straightforward to rectify, presumably?

Otherwise, a highly useful and well-thought out addition to the Pxxx software range, and certainly one worth buying (after we've been through the Betas! - in fact a promotional code for an Esato-members discount in lieu of our role as beta testers would be nice. Not much subtlety here, as you can see )

I like daves idea for discounts for esato members

I cant say battery life has changed all that much since i installed Front view the otherday but i keep apps running to an absolute minimum so maybe that helps.

But yeah the battery life status needs doing (i know its on the list)

I've not had any other problems with the new version although obviously i've only had it a few hours.

I found simply pressing the back key rather than the jog dial gets rid of the shortcut menu so its hardly a great task to those who were complaining ;-p

Another issue on sms received while screen saver is running and screen is locked. When a new sms is received the "you have 1 sms" screen appears above the screen saver. Pressing ok will get you to the message application (even thought the keys are supposed to be locked) and after a while the screen saver pops up and the keys are locked again!
