> Should I sell my k700i for a nokia?

You see buddy,a mobile phone is all about mobility.A big screen not only increases the phone's overall size,but even worse,it quickly drains the battery.Just look at the appalling sells figures of the "big screen" Pxx series compared to the very successfull S60 series ! The top selling cellphone company (whose name I don't feel like spelling) increased its market share by almost 5% because of sticking/going back to the basics.They even thing of dropping their series 90 (Pxx equivalent) altogether before even launching it (7700/10)

Yes buddy you are more then right.But (very) unfortunately SE has earned the reputation of expensive, not easily available phones (at least in my country)with the S60 just the oppossite happened.I think, been first on the marked must have played a role.The phone I am tipping this message is almost 2.5 years old and still compatible to the one released 2 weeks back (6630).I remember waiting and waiting for the P800 and it come only after christmas,althou SE announced it around the same time the 7650 has been announced !

U think that nokia will keep on to launch small display fones in the next future aswell? Btw batt drain could be solved by stronger batts but se dient show much interest to use and release them

Well yes.The s60 is quickly became a defacto standard (176x208) actually it already has.With licencing already approved we will see other companies shortly implementing the s60 platform (using 176x220 screens).I've "predicted" this guite a while ago (on this and other forums, nokia's profits turned up again and everybody was asking why) after identifying the s60 platform as the motor behind it (from reading independent sales figure reports) it Was actually quite obvious.Do you remember the screen standard set by the now forgoten 5110.It bought us picture sms and partly helped make nokia to what it is today.I think the 176x208 will also go down as helping us with multi-media cells and turning around nokia's profits.Yes batt. power will increase but isn't that better used in making the cell faster/more functions and "lasting" longer then "wasting" it on a bigger screen? The so called pda-cellphones (a la ipaq) are already covering that niche market.Remember the basics : MOBILE PHONE

Don't ask - just do it! Why are there so many questions about "what to do"? Make up your own mind, look at both mobiles and make your decision. You shouldn't need others for this. What do you expect? Some will say, they love the K700i, some will say it's a bug-phone. It's about you.

In the past where
mp3 player is rare in mobile phones, I do agreed is great to have
Symbian OS since you can actually install
mp3 player into your phone! But since K700i has a
mp3 player do u still need that software?
However, i want to make another point here, with the aid of
Symbian OS you can rest asure that in the furture new feature are out, the
Symbian OS new feature software might already be there for you... Yet, how long is the lifespan of your phone? that's the question you shld ask urself...
But do keeop in mind, there's still stuff that even
Symbian OS are not capable of doing... Can
Symbian OS actually install
Radio feature? You need the hardware to work... Thus at this very point of view K700i is still standing strong with it's build-in radio...
So significantly the usage of Symbian OS dropped with compare to a SE K700i... But in the future?
Symbian OS will jolly well be standing strong...
