Vodafone Netherlands has published a list of phones that from 1 nov 2013 only work limited in Netherlands and from 1 april 2014 stop working at all on the Vodafone network. Not sure how it is with different networks and countries but some classic Ericsson models on the "blacklist" ( R250s
)
This all to the fact frequencies in the 900mhz-range are changing with the introduction of 4G networks.
