Hello to you all, Ericsson connoisseurs from all over the world,
I have a T28 World that I use ocasionnaly. It is unlocked and so I use it on different networks. However, today I noticed on the service and on the locks menu («**«) that it says "personalised with MNC2" and it shows the closed padlock.
What does this mean? I always used differents SIM's with no problem.
All I now is this phone came from China. Could it be restricted in order not to accept a certain operator SIM, instead of being locked to one operator and not accepting any other SIM?
I am rather curious. Thanks for the answers.
Best regards

I've read somewhere in the internet, that there are utils that can somehow obtain that code without flashing the eeprom.
Sure you don't need to flash your phone, but you need at least a flashing-cable.
Old (very old) progs like Ericsson ATR Service (by zulea) can reset the phonecode to 0000.
Ericsson ATR Serv features:
- FAST UNLOCK (~8sec.)
- Don't need flashing after unlocking
- Remove NCK, NSCK, CCK, SPCK
- Remove User Lock ( Security Code )
- (RE)LOCK to other Network Provider
- Change Phone IMEI ( any digits )
- Full Asia/China languages for all models
- Upgrade T10s to T18s ( Voice Dial )
- Net Monitor Menu On/Off
There have been some more good apps which can do the job at home without having an expensive flashing-box, but without a special cable there's no way.
