I think most people are generally somewhat satisfied with their P990s after R5. However, there are still some serious bugs that should be corrected before the P990 is abandoned. If SE does that, then I can live with the P990 until its replacement is announced. But I wouldn't be the first to buy that, just want to make sure that it is not a beta product

My P990i restarted again today - still R5 bugware which is the latest available for its CDA version. You may think I am a heavy user but I am not. It was in flight mode with WiFi connected, ActiveSync delivering emails on push mode and Swiss Manager also running. This much should not be a burden for a multi-tasking phone. I have deleted almost all of the emails in the phone. I don't see any giant eating memory but P990i still needs to restart for the famous reason.

I also noticed that there in no Edit before call in FO mode or while trying to call from Contacts. There is an option to edit the number before calling form the Calls in FC mode but that one is also useless. You can not edit the number other than the deleting or adding digits at the end of the number. Usually I need to edit access code for IDD call which precedes the local number and area code. But this damn phone does not allow me to change the IDD access code without disturbing rest of the digits as there is no cursor at all. I have not seen this problem mentioned anywhere in the forums. Is this problem unique to my phone?

Not satisfied.
Theese days I've wrote some e-mails with built in pop3 messaging software; when adding files, the program attached the files although I couldn't see them. Cause I didn't saw the files, I've attached the files 5 times, so instead of paying 1mb I had to pay 5mb traffic After 10 e-mails, I've restarted the phone, and voila it's working.
Buggy camera, and lots of bugs, but SE has a different opinion They're smart and we're...

OSNews.com just published a review of the phone. It gets 8 out of 10 points.

Good review but to say: UIQ's last-century usability and "feel" and also to say WM is better is IMO ridiculous.

That's a matter of taste. I do agree to some extent to the remarks she makes about UI usability. One small example I am constantly annoyed about is copy/cut and paste on UIQ3. In WM you have a menu similar to right-click on regular Windows (2000/XP/Vista) by tapping and holding.

I don't agree with some parts of the review. I would like to see the videos she took as I have yet to see a focused acceptable video taken with a P990. As for her comments on stability, I have no comment on that, obviously she is not a power user, she has not found the "CText LAyout" bug either.
Having a good deal of Palm experience behind me, I have adapted quickly to the Symbian/UIQ combination and have always preferred that over WM devices.
