SE is still using Symbian. Ericsson used to have a project working with Microsoft but last press conference in E/// show they stop it.
tht's what everyone afraid of hehe...especially when their winNT also failed to live up to its claim as the most robust OS.
BTW, I suspect Ericsson is the company who introduce Prepaid system because the first company in Malaysia to introduce Pre-paid are DIGI...which partner is Swisscom back in 1997~2000 and both are using Ericsson network equipment. During that time, I recall most of the nokia phone didn't offer function to show call time left.
Ericsson is the company who proposed the two following std...MMS and GSM850 (For TDMA network migration)
Tht's why most MMS service are using Ericsson equipment and a lot of those company who sell Nokia pic or ringtone do use Ericsson solution.

I am amazed by the quality of the devices that Sony Ericsson is producing. I went from Nokia to Samsung, Back to Nokia and finally Sony Ericsson. The t68i is a great phone but the P800, OMG......the best thats out there for the time being. If you have the resources, do yourself a favour and pick up one of these puppies ASAP!

Well, just cuz Toyota sells more cars than Ferrari, doesn't mean a Toyota is BETTER than a Ferrari now does it?
Difference is, Toyota doesn't price themselves in the same class as Ferrari...unlike Nokia.

Ericsson has pioneered most GSM based (if not radio based) technologies, cuz that's what they do. Nokia made plastic boots up until 1992 I think.

Yup, that's what I read too. Ericsson, as a mobile communication company is responsible for most of the mobile technology out there. Nokia just adapts the technology in its own phones and sell them in a nice package. They end up making more out of it even though they probably have to pay patent. Ericsson earns patents to fuel its research and development, and Nokia earns more than thrice that to continue giving us ugly bright looking plastic covers.
Now tell us if there IS a reason why we tend to hate Nokia with passion.

I guess you didn't read my previous post at all. I wasn't talking about what is invented by whom and who got it first in their products, but what they got NOW! Clear enough!?!?
And what you said in your post, I guess you don't know anything about DRM, COD or e-commerce. Could you tell me from what mobile vendor Nokia has adapted those technologies?

According to the latest figures, Nokia has 50 MMS deals and Ericsson has 47. Together they have about 70 % of the deals. So I don't quite get why you're saying "most MMS service are using Ericsson equipment".

I wasn't talking about the terminals, but MMSC's (Multimedia Messaging Service Center). In the terminal side E/SE is not even close.
