LOL!!!
At least my T-Mobile shop was not the only ones bullshiting when they said to me that u are the only one to come back with a problem with T610. "Sir I've sold at least 20 of these and your are the first one to return your phone" Yeah right.......

To anyone with problems with CPW accepting that there is a problem with T610's. Get them to have a look on their computer system, on the intranet section(?) on Latest Updates/Internal Memos/Bulletins etc. (not sure of the exact name), and they'll see an entry saying that SE have taken back all their T610 warehouse stock to be repaired.
I know this because the bloke in my local CPW showed me his computer screen and we both read the bulletin.

So when CPW get the 'new' stock will it be repaired phones or new stock from Sony ? If its the former (repaired pones)- how do we know whats fixed and whats not given the week number and the RXX number will be wrong ...

I've got R2A W19 from CPW and no hissing but ringtones seem quiet. In call volume is fine though as I have it on only 3 bars and I can hear people fine.

CPW do offer a full refund within 14 days, and I have a number of refund receipts to prove this.
My local CPW acknowledges the hiss problem, was in there today buying a phone, and they told me they had two in stock, but wouldn't sell them as "they had faulty software causing the phone to hiss" and they were being replaced with non faulty stock.

As per my previous post above my T610 is non hissing but pre-installed ringtones are really quiet apart from Digirain.
I've missed a couple of calls now and it's peeing me off and have decided to send it back and wait a month. I've weighed it up and I won't feel happy unless I have a W23 'er. (I have a W19' 'er at the mo)

Er...what was that someone said about CPW good customer service...?
Got a week 20 R1A081 hisser on Jun 19 from CPW in S London.
After charging it & noticing the hiss, I called CPW who said a new batch would arrive into the 'warehouse' & they'd have it in the shop on the 24th. The replacement offered (on the 25th) was a week 19 R1A, which also hissed.
The chap in the shop (the manager) first denied it ("I can't hear anything mate") - I suggested he turn his radio down. Instead he walked out on the high street with traffic whizzing past & annouced the phone was fault free on the basis of his test.
Then came the predictable "we havent had any complaints from anyone else, so it must be your hearing".
I said I thought it was a known problem, told him what I knew about the hardware & firmware versions affected.
He got on the phone to "Logistics". "No mate, there's definitely not a problem, otherwise we'd have done something about it. Logistics have just confirmed it. They buy thousands a week, so they wouldn't go buying up dodgy stock now would they?"
(Quite ridiculous. Should I have really pointed out to him that the whole point of logistics is to minimise stockholding & that it's clearly not in their interest to have to return bulk shipments?)
He then phoned "a repair centre". "Ah, what it is, is there's a software fix that changes the hardware to the right version [a direct quote, I swear], so the one you've got in your hand has been fixed."
I thought about trying to explain that software and hardware weren't the same thing...but instead I just said I shouldn't accept the replacement offered since a) it has the same problem, b) it doesn't fit with SE's guidelines on the 'good' ones.
He said he'd processed the replacement now, so I had to accept it.
His offrered his first bottom line: the 600+ at the warehouse yesterday were "all the same batch", any replacement ordered would be the same week of manufacture and he really had "better things to do than to keep spending half a day processing returned phones".
Then he phoned "Technical". "Yep, basically, I can order you a T-Mobile-locked one that they will have tested to make sure it's OK".
Clearly I don't want a locked one, but I'm not unreasonable, so I suggested he call "Logistics" when new non-locked stock arrived on "The System" to find out the week of manufacture and firmware versions in the batch, thereby saving him the effort until a guaranteed reliable phone was available.
He claimed this was impossible. "The only way for me to do it is to check the back of the phone when it arrives in the store".
So be it.
