@Boba, If we talk about mobile, there were old systems earlier than GSM, such as NMT in Saudi Arabia. The first Ericsson mobile phone in Asia should be an NMT. This message was posted from a P800

It is just a supprice that the Swedish Ericsson lets its phones be made in the UK. Normally you see like China or Korea or whatever other cheap country to make the cellphones and not expect that it is made in the UK.

Ericsson bought a mobilephone company in UK during the 90:s and productionfacilities were included in the deal EDIT: I had a look in my book posted earlier in this thread and the name of the factory was Orbitel and they were (are?) located in Carlton-on-Trent
