@Sgt_Wilson:
I told them I had been to T-Mobile for a VarioII for £37 a month and they offered a £15 a month discount for loyalty off my £35 xnet 250 which gave the room to bolt on £14 for the 36MB data package and I think that includes 600 weekend extra minutes (not sure now). The phone will still cost £129 and when I said I had been waiting since August for the phone she gave me a free months rental

, still want the phone now tho....
Anyone else slightly concerned because the P990 has completely disappeared from the o2 website?....not in coming soon or current....

I have been ringing every day! o2 have offered me 500xnet and 500 txt for 20 pounds, I have been with the 4 years.
I would have bought a p990 somewhere else if it wasnt for that deal.
If all of us are waiting for the 23rd, then im sure they wont have any stock left for some of us.....
May be time to reserve? o2 have released the p990 on other sites just not the official one....

Sounds a good deal azzeg - does this include much data? With 990i's web-browsing abilities, the usual O2 inclusive 100kb won't last me more than 1 minute!!

The only thing I've seen/been told about data wise on O2 are fairly minimal amounts unless you want to pay heavily. The Data5 (£5/month) gives you 5MB/month whic hrolls over for 3 months and chanrges you £1/MB over your 5MB . . . kinda rubbish really. Mate of mine has just got the Racoon plan from Orange and got them to throw in unlimited off peak data - think it may be a struggle to get O2 to replicate that deal
PS. O2 have today told me that the P990i will be released week commencing 23rd October and that means it'll be out sometime that week, not necessarily on Monday . . . am going stir crazy over this now

That deal does include the usual data usage 1.0mb but you can add the bolt ons that they offer.
I might try and bargain with them for a bit extra!!

The trouble is I've not had a data contract on my phone before, despite owning a P800 for 4 years I really haven't bothered before . . . I figure with the enhanced capabilities of the 990i I'll setup email and messaging and stuff, so I have absolutly no idea how much data I'll be using.
5MB sounds like nothing to me but then I'm used to being at home/work with nice big broadband connections.

I managed 8MB on my SPV C500 last month some how, just checking emails and some web surfing...ah and now I think of it I tried the Map24 mobile navigation, that uses GPRS, bet that bumped it up...

On the O2 website, the XDA Mini S is down to just £29.99 so I guess this heralds one of 3 things;
1. The P990i is finally about to launch (I put my money here)
2. There is a new XDA launching soon to replace the Mini S (Late Nov I heard)
3. SO many people are waiting for a replacement XDA or the P990i they currently have an over supply and therefore have dropped the price.
Just to humour you all further, someone at O2 CS referred to the coveted handset as the P99Ti. I said surely you mean the P 9 9 xero i, not got that coming out, I got an email about the P ninety-nine T i. MUPPETS
