As bad as war is and wish it could be avoided I have to agree with diggy.
US/UK and its allies are enforcing the cease fire that was established in 1991. Iraq has not lived up to the cease fire and has in the last 12 years illegally developed and imported weapons. SADDAM HUSSEIN is the one that has been VIOLATING INTERNATIONAL LAW.
However, it would have served the US better if someone else than Bush was President....it is easy to judge him for being son of the elder.
The day Iraqi people enjoys their freedom the truth will be revealed.
Until then, let's hope for minimum casualties.

I just want to let everyone that has posted on this topic know that I value your opinions.
I think it is good to get other perspectives on this unfortunate situation. I may not always agree with what is said, but I do value the different opinions.
In the end the truth will be discovered. Whether the US is wrong or right.
Lets all hope this conflict will be over soon.

@ the pro-war ppl,
U sed that Iraq hav Weapons of Mass Destructions... Where R they ?
Is Saddam gona take them to his grvae with him ? Or has he built hem to put on show in his palaces?
If Saddam had the ability to Nuke the USA, you think he wudnt have taken it ?
Whn Colin Powell went to the UN to show them the evidence, His evidnce about Iraq weapons program was shown as being a LIE by Hans Blix...
As for their evidence that Iraq & Al-Qaeda work together, Whats the truth? The USA gov'ts word?
As for the USA, wat has the USA done about Israel's Weapons program? Or its massacres in LEbanon & Palestine?

On this u'll C the amount of Resolutions that the USA has Vetoed which would hav helped control Israel..
But since the USA needs a strong Anti-Arab in the Middle Easr Israel is able to do as it pleases...
This is why when something such as 9/11 occurrs Arabs arent bothered 2 much about American feelings. Its because they hav been suffering in Iraq & Palestine for 2 long

I never claimed Iraq has WMD. I said that after the cease fire in 1991 they have acquired weapons that could be used to attack their neighbors a k a offensive weapons. Iraq signed the cease fire in 1991 saying they cannot have any of such weapons. As well all know, they have violated that cease fire contract by importing weapons from Russia, Serbia, and N. Korea.

So Iraq has acquired some banned weapons, what about the USA's weapons ?
The USA has attacked more countries than ne other.
Iraq shud be allowed to have weapons to defend itself.
On BBC tv, they had a documentary about the war, in which they showed that some of the Iraqi tanks are from 1955!!!!!!!!!!
How r these a threat?
Israel HAS a weapons program, it spends more than 50% of its US aid on Military programs n weapons..
Y hasnt the USA attacked it ?
Saddam has not shown ne aggression to its neighbours since 1991, the USA has not shown anything that proves otherwise..
As for the USA complaining about the Iraqi's acquiring weapons such as Night Vision Goggles, how r these going to help, if the Iraqi's fire power is 1/100 of the USA's ?
The USA has no moral justificatiion for this war
Its just an oil rich country which will B taught a gud lesson hopefully, so it stops its bullying, and its STUPId push for its so-called 'democracy'

People keep forgetting that Iraq attacked innocent Kuwait in 1990 and then were forced by a world coalition to pull out of Kuwait. The cease fire agreement that was signed by leaders of Iraq and the coalition states that Iraq cannot acquire weapons to be used to attack other countries, for instance, missiles that has the range to reach outside of Iraq's airspace. Clearly, everyone knows, with the proof of UN weapons inspectors that they have violated the cease fire and has done so ever since the Gulf War of 1991 ended. I don't understand why anyone would defend Iraq for these actions.
Israel is another story and I am not at all defending US foreign policy on Israel. I want Palestine to have their own sovereignty and wish the peace process would go along. However, Hamas keeps stalling the peace process because if there would be peace they would be out of work. Also, I think there needs to be a leadership change in both Israel and Palestine.

1st point.
The Iraqi attack on q8 in 1990 was stupid, wrong and nobody defends it.. Saddam needs to be removed YES, i dont disagree with you on this as well
However, who the hell made the USA world leader?
They werent able to get a UN resolution to attack Iraq because the UN inspections wer working..
Hans Blix stated that he has found NOTHING so far that shows Iraq has WMD.. Only USA n UK hav sed this.. Where is the proof?????
I am willing to withdraw all my comments against the USA and the UK if anybody can get me 1 Valid piece of evidence that has been shown to justify this war
Just before the USA general was telling the Iraqi Army not to kill/hurt USA troops... This is a war! Wat else r the Iraqi's going to do ?
Give the US food and water and say 'our oil is now your oil?'
The USA has managed to crew itself badly, and i dont think there is any gud coming out of this, especially if this war goes on for months

Well, this looks good, at least we are agreeing on some points. I do agree with you that the US has not presented their case well enough. If it is too protect their sources or just ignorance I don't know.
Yes, a lot of people don't want the USA to be the world police, even politicians in the US Congress. USA would save a lot of money by staying out of world affairs...but that is just what it is...it is WORLD AFFAIRS that affect ALL OF US. I believe there would be less terrorism if USA practiced isolation politics but can you imagine how the world would look like - how many dictatorships and great suffering there would be. Hitler, Milosevic, the Taliban, Saddam Hussein and many others. Kuwait would belong to Iraq, there would be continuous genocide in Bosnia, and over half of Europe would be occupied by Germany to just mention a few.
War is hell but I believe the outcome of the current Iraqi war will benefit us all.
