R2AE is finally out in the Singapore service centres, and the bad news is the version released here does not contain the multi character phonebook search ...
What the hell!!!

Are you sure it is not R2AA you have, the phone book search was removed from that firmware (some services centres are still using R2AA) and in the service menu both R2AA and R2AE show up as just R2A, this sometimes confuses people as to what firmware they have actually got?

@ Memzee
The first R2AA had the feature then it was suddenly removed, there are people that have R2AA without the phone book feature which SE pulled after numerous complaints about accidental contact deletion.
You probably have the first R2AA with the phonebook search being the only difference between the first R2AA and the second.
As far as I am aware all versions of R2AE have the phone book search. The version that is on EMMA definately has the search function.

I am still running on r2l. I got wind of the fact r2ae was finally released over here at the service centres from a local forum. 3 people have confirmed in a thread on it that they cannot do a multicharacter search of the phonebook. Just wondering if this is language pack related, since the firmware here supports chinese. Maybe that complicates things

I also just got my firmware upgraded to R2AE hoping that the multicharacter phone book search function is there but sad to say, it's not there as well. I'm from Malaysia, which is in the same region as Singapore. Maybe the version in this region does not have this feature? That's so sad....
Also, I did not notice any other differences besides the speed and the removal of the call answer delay. I was also hoping for the Bluetooth Headset option in the Voice Answer Environment selection but was again dissapointed....

Is this still not available on SEUS? My phone doesn't start up anymore.

I'm going to try this afternoon with a sync stand, but I think I'll probably go back to R2L.
