is there someone who tryed if animated wallpaper works ok on Satio?
As far as I know S60 5th doesn't support animated wallpaper and I don't think that SE added this features to satio...

It fails to respond at times, which doesn't appear to be a fault with the screen but the software being sluggish (remember the K850?). Even without anything obvious running in the background (i.e. excluding background tasks, like the SE front-end), opening some windows and menu dialogues can cause the screen to stop responding - for a second or two.
If you go into system preferences, and theme, you'll see that you can't press anything straight away. Wait a bit and it works fine. The same happens on occasions where you need to enter text, and at others when the softkeys won't respond. All very frustrating, but I am sure all fixable with a firmware update.
To be honest, with such a fast processor, I am of the opinion that it's the SE interface that is always running (unless you turn it off) that is causing all of these delays. Turning off auto-screen rotation also helps, as the phone is FAR too sensitive and will try and rotate after turning just a few degrees - and back - causing all sorts of problems and delays.
As is typical with SE (although Samsung was just as bad with the I8910 and I guess so was Nokia with every S60 phone), early adopters pay the price for getting early software.

Gravity was the first app I installed - it's one of those must-haves. If you get the latest alpha release, it also has Facebook and Google Reader support (but only very basic).
Which version of Gravity works for you on Satio? I tried 1.24 and it doesn't react on touch screen at all. I can't add an account.
Edit: It's ok, it works with v1.21.

I've gone to sleep with the battery almost full, and it's dead by morning - and nothing was left running. So, something is causing battery drain - and I really do think it's the SE built stuff.
I wonder how much of the code was ported from UIQ, as there are many similarities. Perhaps the code isn't optimal!
Give it some time, as I am sure many of these issues will be sorted out. Firmware updates usually speed things up quite a lot on SE handsets. The processor is powerful enough - being the same as the Pre and 3GS - so there are no excuses for it to be as sluggish as an N97 (or worse) at times.

Your battery was full and drained over night in sleep mode? That cant be normal. Jmcomms are you reviewing this for the next issue of What Mobile?

Yes, it is being reviewed for the next (awards) issue of What Mobile. I am making sure I take some time with this, as it's a real rollercoaster experience!
The death of the battery happened because I assume something was left running, a memory leak or something else - I have no real way of finding out, but I have my suspicions that it's the SE standby theme!
Video playback will sometimes stall for 2-5 seconds, and I am assuming it's doing something in the background. I've watched films downloaded from PlayNow (encoded specifically for the Satio), my own encoded stuff and videos recorded on the camera. I would love to know what's causing these pauses, and why other people aren't commenting (perhaps they've not used the phone enough, or just ignored it happening once or twice).
Now if I turn the SE theme off, I am left with a corrupted screen (regardless of what I select) on standby. I have already done one full reset, so I am loathe to do it again - I really don't think this will fix it.

I look forward to the Awards issue then i always buy it

Is the Sony Ericsson theme animated? As these can use more power and sometimes heavy animated themes can slow a phone.

I'm running a theme called "Neptune" with the "Navigation bar" standby theme right now and I can run all the shortcuts fine. Why don't you try updating the firmware? It's possible that you received your test unit with a "Dud" test build of a firmware. From what I know, SE had a new build each day until the handsets were shipped.
